  1. First: I said on here. Second: No. And before you ask, I don’t do the Facebook pages or Twitter pages, either. Bad takes here are top end posts in those places.
  2. The fact people think Heinicke is a better QB than Wentz is wild. More feisty? Yes. Ice cold in clutch situations. Usually. Slippery? Yes. Heinicke has all of that over Wentz. But that’s not how you win in the playoffs. You have to have the ability to be quick strike at any moment. Not once a game. But literally at any time. That’s where Wentz, his experience and his arm is superior. Wentz may take more sacks. That’s the trade off for the quick strike ability. The question with Wentz is: can he quick strike enough to win. Were going to find out the answer soon.
  3. LT is a much larger need than anyone is letting on. Cost + ability with Leno is a concern. I don’t think he is the weak link on the line, but I think his cap hit is intrusive to correcting the OL issue. Not as bad as Wentz, of course. But part of it. The thing is, though, we have to pick our battles. A replacement at RT can kick Cosmi to guard. So RT is important. But then the question of, “is Cosmi actually capable of staying healthy” comes into play. Center is a must. LG/LT are less necessary but may prove to be important (I’m not a fan of Leno against high end edges). I’m curious if we kept Leno if he could kick to the RT spot. Some guys can. Some can’t. Not sure which he is. His cost becomes less restrictive if moving him allows an on roster solution to RT/RG and allows us to go after a LT and C with the available resources.
  4. That’s exactly what I mean. I thought that was implied with me talking about Richardson.
  5. This is a fun exercise. For "simplicity" I'm splitting them into tiers. Tier I = Elite, Tier II = Clear Starter, Tier III = Fringe Starter, Tier IV = Backup, Tier V, Fringe NFL QB. Rookies are ranked currently without my thoughts on their future ability. So some will be lower than I think they wind up. Current starters: Washington - Taylor Heinicke (until we hear otherwise). Tier IV. Dallas - Dak Prescott - Tier II. NYG - Daniel Jones - Tier III. Philly - Jalen Hurts - Tier II. Carolina - Sam Darnold - Tier IV. Tampa Bay - Tom Brady - Tier II (at this point in his career) Atlanta - Desmond Ridder - Tier V. New Orleans - Andy Dalton - Tier IV. LA Rams - Baker Mayfield - Tier III. San Francisco - Brock Purdy - Tier IV. Seattle - Geno Smith - Tier III (though trajectory has that on a big upswing after this season) Arizona - Colt McCoy - Tier IV. Minnesota - Kirk Cousins - Tier II. Detroit Lions - Jared Goff - Tier II. Green Bay - Aaron Rodgers - Tier I (though he has had a bit of a downswing this year I still consider him Tier I). Chicago Bears - Justin Fields - Tier III NFC Totals: Tier I - 1, Tier II - 5, Tier III - 4, Tier IV: 5, Tier 5 - 1 Buffalo - Josh Allen - Tier I Miami - Tua Tagovalioa - Tier II New England - Mac Jones - Tier III NYJ - Mike White - Tier IV Cincy - Joe Burrow - Tier I Baltimore - Lamar Jackson - Tier I (this is contingent on how he is used. If you try to throw more and reduce his running this drops. But he is where he is) Pittsburgh - Kenny Pickett - Tier IV. Cleveland - Deshaun Watson - Tier IV. (I don't care how good he used to be. He stinks now and he's not a great human (allegedly) Jacksonville - Trevor Lawrence - Tier II Tennessee - Ryan Tannehill - Tier III Indianapolis - Nick Foles - Tier IV Houston - Davis Mills - Tier IV KC - Patrick Mahomes - Tier I. LAC - Justin Herbert - Tier I Las Vegas - Derek Carr - Tier II Denver - Russell Wilson - Tier III AFC Totals: Tier I - 5, Tier II - 3, Tier III - 3, Tier IV - 5 So by this list there are 14 definitive NFL starters, about 7 additional fringe guys. So 21/32 teams have NFL starting QBs at the position at the moment. Teams like the Rams and Cardinals (who have injuries) also have NFL starters. So I'd say there are about 24 starting NFL QBs in the league as it stands right now.
  6. I don’t think anyone here disagrees. The conversation here is that what the Commanders might do.
  7. Agree again. But for right now we have Rivera and Snyder and until otherwise noted I’m operating on the assumption that is what we have going into 2023. I would have played Howell before the win streak started. Now I think it’s imperative he plays in the next two weeks so we have an idea of what he is going into the offseason. Though if he plays well that doesn’t bode well for Rivera not playing him sooner. I think Howell could absolutely wind up being a very quality starter for us. I think I was his biggest cheerleader this offseason. But I don’t believe our current regime is going to want to go that route. They are going to try to make a splash. Vet is a route but expensive. My early thought is they are going to try for Richardson (via trade up if necessary) and address OL with Wentz’ salary.
  8. You don’t have to convince me on the OL. I just don’t think that’s the route they want to go.
  9. No spin. You said Foles gets credit for the Eagles ring. So in theory, consistency would say if we won a ring this year (spoiler: we won’t) Heinicke shouldn’t get any credit for the team winning. I think that’s a bad take. The QB who helps guide them there, no matter the % of credit should feel proud and a part of the accomplishment. And be given credit for it. Though I’m also someone that believes rings are won by the organization. So in my world the entire organization deserves credit for a ring.
  10. No, I am not. I give him credit for making Turner change the plan. But deflection isn’t a win. Answer the question please.
  11. I think ultimately if Anthony Richardson is in striking distance Rivera is going to pick him. Am I on board? I don’t know. Dude has a rocket for an arm and is athletic as hell. Good size. Want to talk about footwork issues? He has them. If Howell can’t play because of footwork issues there is no **** Richardson would be ready. But the thing with him Is you almost need him to play to gather the experience to improve. He also doesn’t seem to play in a multi read offense. Looks like it’s one and go. There’s a place for that but it handicaps your offense in other ways than a guy like Heinicke who limits the routes and play types. But watching a bit more of him I can see where people say he’s a similar college QB as a guy like Josh Allen (though Richardson is faster and less of a tank, which means less sturdy. So it’s not a great comparison
  12. So if Wentz starts the rest of the way and we won the Super Bowl (hypothetically) he gets all the credit, right? Heinicke gets none for helping the team get to the point where the playoffs are possible. Just want to see if I’m following this.
  13. Pitts and Mayer are different style tight ends though. Pitts couldn’t block for **** but was a dynamic pass catching tight end that could at least pretend like he could block someone. Mayer is less of a dynamic receiver (more possession tilted but not a possession guy) but a much better blocker. The two shouldn’t even be considered as the same position.
  14. It's Christmas day. Not going to spend the normal amount of time putting this thing together. Offense: Heinicke was fantastic in the first half. Held the ball on the Bosa sack, which is what I wanted last week. Made some big strikes when needed. I want to clarify, though. Fantastic as in the best he's been for us. Gritty. The second half he fell apart and made too many mistakes. Wentz: Looked good. Didn't get sacked like many thought he was going to. NFL strikes and arm talent on display. Samuel: Why did he shrug after the Wentz TD? Frustration that Heinicke was in for so long? Or did something go wrong? Robinson: Love the way he runs. Turner/Coaching/Rivera: Going for it on 4th and goal is one thing... though... take the points... but I can understand. But going for it in opponent FG range? Not a fan. Gibson running it on fourth down and goal? Whoever made that sub needs to have an intervention. McLaurin: Yeah, he's good. Dotson: Yeah, he's good. OL: Was there one on the field? Defense: Missing Curl hurt. I think he's a top 5 SS in this league and a top 2 most important player on this defense. Him being out hurt more than many really realize. I think he is the reason there are less coverage breakdowns when he's in versus when he's out. Sweat was close a few times again today, but ultimately he's the pressure king but he just doesn't finish. Young in limited play made more of an impact on this game than Sweat has all season. I'm still in the trade Sweat this offseason camp. And no, not because I think he stinks. He doesn't. He's a very good player... but his return is going to be a bigger get for us than his production, in my opinion. Defense didn't play great. Studs and Duds: *** - Daron Payne *** - Terry McLaurin ** - Brian Robinson ** - Jahan Dotson (would be three but that big drop to start was tough) ** - Chase Young (good start to the comeback) * - Curtis Samuel It's Christmas. Not handing out duds. Season to date: * x 22 - Daron Payne * x 21 - Terry McLaurin * x 15 - Jon Allen * x 13 - Jahan Dotson * x 13 - Brian Robinson * x 10 - Curtis Samuel * x 8 - Darrick Forrest * x 7 - Montez Sweat * x 7 - Antonio Gibson * x 7 - Jamin Davis * x 6 - Benjamin St-Juste * x 5 - Kam Curl * x 5 - Kendall Fuller * x 3 - Tress Way * x 3- Dyami Brown * x 3 - Back Judge in Vikings Game * x 3 - Jack Del Rio * x 2 - Chase Young * x 2 - Joey Slye * x 1 - Danny Johnson * x 1 - Scott Turner * x 1 - Rachad Wildgoose * x 1 - James Smith-Williams * x 1 - Jonathan Williams * x 1 - John Bates x 1 - Wes Schweitzer x 1 - Jon Bostic x 3 - Taylor Heinicke x 3 - Cam Sims x 3 - Entire OL (whatever iteration in Giants Game II) x 4 - Scott Turner x 4 - John Ridgeway x 4 -Rivera's Clock Management x 5 - Charles Leno x 5 - Trai Turner x 6 - Nick Martin x 6 - WJ3 x 7 - Sam Cosmi x 8 - Andrew Norwell
  15. Chase was more impactful in limited action today than Sweat has been all season. Good start to the comeback.
  16. Yup. We see Howell before we see Heinous again. And yes, that is autocorrect and no I’m not fixing it.
  17. Well… Merry Christmas to everyone that celebrates. Happy holidays to those who celebrate something else. Happy misery to those who have nothing to celebrate after this game.
  18. Don’t be surprised if he’s a guy who’s name comes up to be a Commander next year.
  19. And that’s the difference. Wentz is a NFL QB. Not a great one. But a NFL starting caliber QB. Heinicke is a likable guy who plays with ice in his veins but not a NFL caliber QB.
  20. Wentz throwing well hot. Staying in the pocket. Doing well.
  21. Great play by Wentz. He should have been sacked based on the “If Wentz was in he’d get sacked!” Comments around here. But made a nice play there.
