    I don’t know where the alley player was there but he certainly wasn’t where he was supposed to be. Right now this game is on the D. Yes, the O should have scored. But 99 yards is a drive that shouldn’t happen in a 0-0 game.

    Semi-complicated answer. Yes. But no. The RB coach will do subs based on endurance and gameplan. So a sub could be made and the OV not realize it, though generally if that happens enough the OC tells the RB coach he’s making bad choices. Also, nice play 99

    Hopefully this winds up good for us with a 99 yard field and Brock “Heinicke” Purdy at QB.

    Heinous is really tough to watch today. We can’t run against this defense as effectively as we have… so logic says we need to throw. Except Heinous is our QB and they don’t trust him.

    Not playing him is a tragically bad move if both QBs are struggling. At some point you have to acquire knowledge for ‘23. Sitting him because “footwork” issues (watch Heinicke’s footwork at times…) is non sense BS. If he can’t play he can’t play. If he looks relatively solid, then play him.

    I also like it because if both ply and both struggle it sets the stage for Howell. Ultimately, we need to see Howell this year. I prefer it sooner than later. Get a sample size and get the plan for 23 one way or another.

    I bet they’re hoping that the idea of a potential hook puts Heinicke in “Tampa Bay Playoff Game” mode. I actually really like the strategy.
