  1. Josina could have been quoting someone who isn’t directly involved but believed they knew, too. Nature of reporting. Coaches absolutely check the playoff permutations.
  2. It’s almost worse if he was being sarcastic. It was a legit question that was asked. Responding to that with sarcasm is childish and it’s really opposite of Rivera’s character.
  3. You think Ron has had full control… of what? Same can be said for Shanahan. And Gibbs. And whoever else. They haven’t had full control of a thing. Until people get that you can’t see the forest through the trees. People not seeing Snyder is THE issue is baffling to me. Not A issue. The. You can say “ya he’s bad but…” all you want, the second you add the “but” to the statement we lose any kind of common ground where conversation can be had.
  4. I’m convinced I’m not communicating that I think Rivera shares blame properly. There is no way people keep responding to me like they don’t share in it if I’m communicating it correctly.
  5. I think Rivera stays exactly because of this. And because he’s a good man. But I think he needs to at the very least replace the OC.
  6. Okay but what are you arguing? I said Rivera should be let go, didn’t I? My point is, and one many seem to either be intentionally missing or not seeing: It doesn’t matter. The new coach will lack the resources necessary because of the owner, even if the new HC is given “full control”, because the owner is ultimately the one who provides the resources. We may have a guy work for a year or two. Or a guy that we feel good about. But it’s been 23 years of his reign of terror. Let me ask you something: what coach has worked out long term here? Marty was 8-8 and looked to have something building. Was fired after a year. Gibbs did the best he could. But ultimately even his tenure was under achieving. What more evidence is needed to see that every coach we bring in is ultimately a failure? You could even make the definition of “not a failure” more than two good years. Who has done that under Snyder? There is one constant. It isn’t Rivera.
  7. I don’t get your point. How can anyone not see who this entire failure of a franchise falls on for over two decades? It’s baffling. No, Snyder isn’t to blame for bad play calls, bad clock management, bad player decisions as it pertains to who plays when. No, Snyder isn’t at fault for stupid subs. No, Snyder isn’t at fault for Rivera on the sidelines looking confused all the time. Thats on Rivera. And he and the staff needs to go. But Snyder does get blame for: - Meddling - Toxicity - Worst facilities in the league (they practice on dead grass and have one of the least modern facilities) - Lack of FA budget - Failure to acquire a Stadium (direct cause, no one wants to help him) - having the entire minority ownership leave - Overstepping people he hired - Washington’s image - Players who are unwilling to sign here, that we can even afford, due to him and his involvement in shady activities. - Scamming season ticket owners - Poor fan relations and thus low morale culture I can keep going. He is the overarching factor. He isn’t the day to day factor. That was Rivera and his staff and their players. But Snyder is THE every day.
  8. I’m giving him no such power. When did I say Ron skates? Go back and read my posts. But at the same time you aren’t giving Snyder enough of the blame. People don’t want to play here because of him. He is cash broke so it’s hard to improve key positions. Our main acquisition this off-season was a guy that Snyder publicly said was our savior. You think he wasn’t at all involved in getting Wentz? c’mon. It’s Snyder. Rivera is at fault for his coordinators, bad clock management and poor decisions on the field. Snyder is at fault for everything else.
  9. Off the hook? No. But they were bound to fail regardless because of ownership.
  10. The nickel and dime FA falls on our owner. Guy is liquid broke. And I don’t want anyone to even try to argue that point with me. Guy has money tied up in too many endeavors. Rivera holds his share of the blame but let’s not forget the stink that is behind all of our HC hires failing is the guy at the top. Dont let that fall to the wayside here in our disappointment.
  11. I don’t listen to post game stuff. It’s mostly fluff and nonsense.
  12. Howell playing is a nightmare scenario for Rivera now. If he stinks he gets that stink on him. If he’s phenomenal people will question he knows what he’s doing even more than they are now. This whole thing has been misplayed every step of the way.
  13. That is obvious. Ownership changeover means we have a lame duck HC unless the change happens in the next month. I don’t see that happening. Any QB they bring in is DOA unless he’s a total stud. We don’t have an avenue to a total stud. We can’t trade future assets because of that situation, either. So anyone we bring in has to be a natural get. It’s IMPERATIVE we see Howell next week. Mandatory.
  14. Carr is far better than Wentz. But that doesn’t mean it’s a move we should make.
  15. Positive is if we bring Wentz back for the $26M number next year I can opt out of the season like I’m a college kid sitting out of a Bowl game before the draft.
  16. I don’t know that he’s exciting. But I at least like his personality and work ethic. So he has that.
