  1. They absolutely can go with Howell. It just is a big cahone move. If it works, you find a franchise level QB, can be set at the position to worry about shoring up other important needs and you may be in the playoffs. If it doesn't work Rivera's seat is a bit warmer, it puts an emphasis on QB in the offseason.
  2. Our entire QB situation is awful. I would have went to Howell weeks and weeks ago (before the streak if I'm being honest). Now we will enter 2023 offseason with the plan that Wentz is gone (if he's not and we keep him at his salary... the FO needs to be fired), Heinicke is a FA and Howell with no experience. We dropped the ball. The only way to make that okay there is to actually make the playoffs at this point. It's not looking good.
  3. Not every QB is as limited as Heinicke. So the mistakes aren't as deflating. Your defense of him is strange.
  4. There is nothing over the top about blaming Heinicke for the mistakes HE made. And no worries, I've been criticizing the OL all season, even when Wentz was the QB. And Turner was awful last night. Just because they've all been bad doesn't exonerate Heinicke.
  5. How about the two fumbles that cost us the game? Yes, the OL and Turner deserve blame there as well. I can't believe you believe your own schtick at this point. It's a complete troll job.
  6. I think you have a bad read on the situation. I see what happened there. I understand what happened there. I also understand that the entire decision by Heinicke there is the same decision he's made many times and gotten lucky it didn't result in a turnover to destroy this team. Being understanding of WHY doesn't excuse the result. It's not an unrealistic expectation to expect the guy that is playing because of his "moxie" to not do something like that. You are a QB in the NFL. For the record, I feel equally about that as I do about the whole Patriots end of game scenario yesterday. Inexcusable.
  7. I have a feeling they are going to trade up and try to get a guy available in the 8ish range. Could be Anthony Richardson. Note: I'm not advocating for it at this point. But I just have a feeling. The only way they don't is if we get to see Howell and he plays well. Then they may opt not to make that move.
  8. Not a great decision? It was an awful decision. If you aren't looking why would you throw it? It makes no sense and no excuse should be given for Taylor's awful play there. Nit picking? Dude, your schtick is ridiculous. That pass in the end zone on the bad snap play should have 100% been an interception and we're lucky we can even talk about the two bad calls.
  9. People are blaming the defense because there are expectations for relatively quality play. People aren’t blaming the offense because with our QB and OL there is no reason to think they could do well. And that tells you everything about our QB position at the moment.
  10. That’s the way the offense is always going to work with Heinicke.
  11. I’m all set with Heinicke. He tried to give away the game before the refs stepped in to help him do it, so by that admission the bad calls shouldn’t come into play. Heinicke fumbled while we were in field goal range, fumbled away a touchdown and should have thrown a game losing pick. Any other QB here is lambasted for that performance. But Heinicke skates for some. I’ll say this… after the Heinicke fumble in the fourth the defense got gashed because the moxie magic ran out and they gave up on our offense. I’ve seen it before and that’s exactly what happened on that drive. Want to blame someone for the loss? Look no further than the OL, Heinicke and Turner.
  12. I think it’s worth discussing. That rule isn’t an actual rule. The split end/tight end/OL all have the same line of scrimmage requirement and rules. I agree it has always been called that way. But it shouldn’t be. Having said that, the more egregious call against the norm of the way games are generally officiated is the DPI. I have concerns with the McLaurin call but they are more procedural with the way refs enforce that violation (or don’t) in general vs. a stance against it in this game. But that DPI was brutal.
  13. But the WR was in the same location the TE would have been. Even with the OT. Which by rule is ON the line. Not off. But because the refs are used to receivers being even with the ball versus even with the OT they have always called that as a penalty. But it shouldn’t be. It’s consistent with the way it’s always been called but not consistent with the way they call it for the OL/TEs. Which is strange. And it’s like that at all levels of football.
  14. Correct. But he looked like he was in line with the OT, who IS on the line. Which means he was on the line. Though they generally want the receiver even with the ball. But tight ends aren’t. It’s an inconsistency with officiating I’ve never understood.
  15. The bad call happened and is real. But Heinous did his best to end the game the play before when he threw a pass directly to a defender. So it should have been over even sooner.
  16. That DPI was blatant and obvious. It’s not like the other whining people do. That was an undeniable penalty in a crucial moment of the game. Having said that… there are other factors. Our defense folded on the drives we needed them… but that is one of our least pressing issues. Though I have concerns with Sweat and think he should be traded this year to fill some of the holes. Our entire OL is replacement level. Our coordinator is too fascinated with running Samuel inside. Our quarterback cost us the game with big turnovers in big moments. And, the bad snap pass should have been intercepted but the rabbit’s foot saved him. That alone makes the DPI almost a bonus for us to have the opportunity to complain about because Heinicke sunk us on that pass.
  17. I’m the first guy to tell people they are full of **** when they complain about refs. But the refs made the McLaurin call (which was close) and then didn’t make the obvious DPI call which gives us a first on the 1. They blew this one. Also… I’m done with Heinicke
  18. He was out of bounds. But I’d prefer the Giants having the timeout.
  19. Heinous almost ****ed us again. Don’t care what happens. All set.
  20. Because they gave up on Heinicke’s moxie. The aura is lifted. It’s time to move on.
  21. The defense’s response to the TH fumble tells you he has lost some of the magic moxie with the locker room. It’s time to make a change.
