  1. Rivera didn't just let him go be a FA, iirc. We had him signed to an extension under Brucifer, but Rivera cut him to save cap space.
  2. Maybe I'm wrong, but maybe the most "defusing" outcome might be if Trump gets disqualified, but then Haley wins the election over Biden. I'm NOT suggesting a preference for Haley over Biden, so don't flame me on that; but that scenario would force GOPers to decide if they want to hang on to a loser past or actually try to move beyond the cult of personality and become an actual party again. And it would be almost hilarious to see all the spineless sycophants and MTG level nutballs twisted in knots over whether to support a Republican president, or sabotage her like they've been doing to Biden because if Drumpf is allowed to tweet from his jail cell, you know he will be urging them to tear her down.
  3. My latest painting...and yeah, once again I painted my dog.
  4. Was about to post exactly the same thing. Once Kyle Shanahan left, the team sucked. I can't believe people are even considering him, especially after what GB did to his overhyped defense.
  5. For the 4th time this century we have the #2 overall pick, and in all 3 previous cases the result was the same - we drafted an overrated player because his athleticism was off the charts, but he subsequently suffered a catastrophic knee injury that took away his only edge and exposed his lack of actual skills. It's why we will probably draft Daniels, but after much hype he will destroy his ACL, thus saving our streak of not having drafted a winning QB in the first round since 1937.
  6. @China The prank thread is why I remembered it. Riggo-toni Posted November 18, 2010 Pete Carr's guitar lead on Mainstreet is one of the most beautiful solos ever recorded. The tone is breathtaking, and the melody is both powerful and instantly memorable. Glenn Frey (Eagles) may have gone on to be Seger's most famous ex-guitarist, but Carr was the best.
  7. Who was it on ES who passionately hated Bob Seger? Was that Chomerics?
  8. "deal with adversity"....most overused meaningless cliche in sports history. "So Leon, what about that pair of pick sixes you threw in the playoffs last year?" "Well, it taught me how to deal with adversity..."
  9. Sorry if this doesn't belong here, but I couldn't think of another thread to put it in, since it's not humor and these aren't my pugs.
  10. For people comparing Jordan Love to Aaron Rodgers... watching Love throw across his body into triple coverage with a playoff game on the line, thus ending the Packers postseason with a game sealing interception... is the most classic Brett Favre move ever.
  11. I worked at Montgomery Mall from high school through summer breaks from college. I was back in Bethesda a couple years ago and now it's Westfield Shopping Center.... still viable, but unrecognizable - having worked there for so many years I could make out the floor plan and see if any of the original stores were still around (nope). Like @China I used to go to White Flint mall all the time for movies. There was an ES meetup about 10 years ago at the Dave and Busters there and I was shocked at how few things still remained- I think it was down to just restaurants and the theater. And, yeah, it was completely gone when I popped by 2 years ago.
  12. The origins of Russian military strategy....
