That's a lot of money to pay out for a name change.  They could've just renamed it Pittsburgh Penguins Arena, since they own that property anyways.

This is cheesy.  I barely hung on to the switch to Verizon Center...now it's back to calling it MCI Center.

 

Keeping one name for the entirety of a sports venue's lifespan makes the place that much more holy.  Even if you SUCK like the Eagles, and your field is full of rabbit holes, Veterans Stadium was their pride (since they have no trophies).

 

**** the Eagles.

 

Even Fed Ex Field, or "FED EX" as we call it, for all its faults, has an aura about it.  Change that **** to something else and it'd still be FED EX.
