Any Redskins fan events on Saturday night in Atlanta?

A friend of mine is going to the game next Sunday and was wondering if there was going to be any Redskins fan gathering in Atlanta the night before the game. Like a team-related one they've had occasionally where Larry and Doc might be there, or any informal ones that you might know about. Please let me know times and locations.......thanks in advance!

I live here, am going to PM Huly to see when the team is supposed to arrive at the airport, would love to welcome them. I'll be nailing down my tix to the game later today.

I drunkenly booked flights and a ticket last night. Only $65 in section 341.

Not sure I can really afford this trip at the moment but looks like I will be there. Do we usually have a good support in Atlanta? Is it a friendly fan base? I feel like it would be in the main part.

Huly said she'd let me know as soon as she finds out the flight times, but said the busses may pick them up on the tarmac, and they never go through Dulles, so I'll let you guys know ASAP.

And the last time we played here in '13, it was near the end of the season, and both teams were stinkin', Robert had been benched...so there was plenty of B&G.  With the Falcons being undefeated so far, it may be different this season...which is why we truly appreciate you guys coming from wherever you're coming from...we need another win badly, especially against those Dirty Birds!

Hail!

My wife said she has a line on some things going on but won't tell me.  The trip is a present for our 5th anniversary and she wants there to be some surprises, though I'm pretty sure that is code for she hasn't planned anything besides the game yet.  If I get anything out of her, I"ll pass it along.  Any word if there will be any tailgaiting for Skins fans?  I've been watching for a thread about it.  I'm flying in so I can't really bring anything.

Yes to both. I've been to two skins games here (2003 and 2013). Always lots of skins fans in the building. Crowd super friendly. It's a great place to see a game as a visiting fan

Heard the Stadium was pretty bad. I can still void my airline ticket but will probably make the trip. Only live once as they say and since moving from the East Coast to San Diego I don't get a chance to see them much anymore. Used to make half of the home games when living in PA

The stadium itself is eh. I mean a great place as a visiting fan because you'll have lots of company and won't have idiots trying to start a fight with you

Can you get a beer in Atlanta before 12:30 pm on a Sunday these days?

No, unfortunately not. That is VERY important to remember. You also cannot buy alcohol from stores before 12:30 on Sundays. Due to security, it can take a while to get into the gates so I would not recommend hanging around in a restaurant/bar near the stadium until alcohol is served if you plan on attending the game.

You can always smuggle a flask or two into a restaurant and spike your own drinks, but I would recommend buying your alcohol on Saturday and just hangout/tailgate somewhere before the game. There is an area call "the gulch" near the stadium that is probably the most popular tailgating spot, just ask around.

Full disclosure: I am long time Falcon fan who just signed up on the Forum to lurk around before the game, but I've lived in Atlanta for over 30 years and can offer some suggestions on the area. We tend to be nice to people down here in the South, all the fans are usually pretty friendly.

Huly said their flight leaves around 2pm, they should be here somewhere around 3-3:30, but I doubt they'll come through the airport as well, as it IS the busiest on the planet, and security areas probably won't let us get anywhere near a gate without a ticket...I've gotta admit, it's been years since I've been to Hartsfield.

Taco Mac at Lindbergh is the only thing I've heard of, and there's another bar across from the Lindbergh Marta Station on Piedmont Ave that has been touted as a Redskins bar, though I've never been there...a nice lady who works at Kohl's told me about it, said her husband is a huge fan & probably an ES member...she said he's constantly on some site with a bunch of other fans, LOL

And there are NO alcohol sales before 12:30 on Sunday here in the buckle of the Bible belt.

HTTR!

The thing that amazed me moving from GA to FL is you can buy booze in Grocery Stores, they have special booze stores.  Almost like LA where you have drive up mixed drink kiosks.

I know, I moved to GA from Jacksonville, and couldn't believe there was no Albertson's with a liquor department, LOL

There was a drive-thru at the Orange Park ABC store, and they used to also offer cups of ice, as if that's a good thing

I'm flying out of Richmond on Saturday and will be staying at the Westin by the Georgia Dome. I guess I'll plan on hitting TacoMac as well.

I land from San Diego at 7pm hopefully I will make it there. What is everyone doing about drinking on Sunday is that tailgate $30 a good?
