21forever
Can't find any thread on Hard Knocks this year, so I thought I'd start one here (even though we only have one more episode left). Not quite as rivoting as previous years, but one thing I can say about this years Hard Knocks... I'm not a fan of Mike Smith as a HC. I like their assistants, but when I hear his stuttering speeches, I just get the sense that he's the type of guy you just tune out. That's all for now. CRobi21
Yea, Smith is annoying. He gets "Boss respect", not "man respect". If that makes sense. Haven't like him sense he got in DHall's face a few years back when we were in ATL. **** does he think he's gonna do. lol This past episode with their ST coach Armstrong chewing out everyone at the beginning was great. Bryan Cox has all the must see moments this year, he's awesome.
21forever
For sure! I also learned that Matt Ryan is definitely a solid leader. Puts in tons of work and really knows his stuff. Somehow I drafted Brady in the 6th round of my fantasy draft, and then picked Ryan in the 11th round as a backup. Crazy!
Leonard Washington
Nolan and Cox are the best coaches on the team.
PF Chang
I have to start watching this. A guy who graduated a year ahead of me in HS, Mickey Shuler, is in competition for the TE2 spot. He's been bouncing around camps dealing with injury but seemed to have an advantage over Pascoe from what I read. Just recently got a concussion though, it sucks that it will probably be the difference. Hardest worker I've ever seen.
Diehard Otis
He gets "Boss respect", not "man respect". Haaa, I really like that. I may have to borrow that phrase at work. As for the show, the Falcons have put me to sleep for years. I just never take them seriously - 15 minutes of episode 2 is all the interest I could muster. Bryan Cox has all the must see moments this year, he's awesome. I have always been a Bryan Cox fan, ever since his playing days. The guy relished being the Darth Vader of the league. There are no proper villains like him in the league these days. [bIG SIGH] The game's changed too much.
Hail Em Up
I have been watching HK since it first aired and by far this has been the best season. I have always liked B Cox I admired how he played the game, mean and nasty. Seeing him bring that attitude to coaching is very entertaining. Diehard Otis
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGVYvKC24Oc I love it! The villain lives! (Can you imagine if Cox scored a Head Coaching gig, what his teams would be like?)
Hooper
Matt Ryan is charisma free. Just a goofy grin on a handsome face. Mike Smith preaching toughness is hilarious. Reminds me of the Dave Campo era in Dallas.
21forever
I have been watching HK since it first aired and by far this has been the best season. Yeahhhhhh. Going to have to disagree with you there. This season has been pretty damn boring imo. Matt Ryan is charisma free. Just a goofy grin on a handsome face. Mike Smith preaching toughness is hilarious. Reminds me of the Dave Campo era in Dallas. Haha yeah you're right. Now that I think about it, I think Matt Ryan is another guy you just kinda tune out. He's talented enough for them to win a lot of games though. And yes... the whole "toughness" speeches from Smith are a joke.
KuNiT21
Nothing will ever beat the Rookie talent show for the Ravens mocking Ray Lewis and Shannon Sharpe http://www.baltimoreravens.com/videos/videos/Hard-Knocks-The-Shannon-Sharpe-impersonators/be042c7a-fb2f-4abf-a081-54c1c4eb5d03
First Colony
I'm glad others have said that Smith's speeches are boring and uninspired. I thought maybe I was missing something. I kept thinking that maybe it was just the way they were edited. But then you see more and more and you realize, nope-that's how he is. Do you really want to fight for this man? Now Bryan Cox on the other hand. . . I'll admit I enjoyed Matt Ryan's ****willow joke.
RawBBQSauce
Mike Smith is such a cupcake HC. He almost single-handedly lost them their playoff game vs. Seattle 2 years ago.
Enforcer_FFX
For real - Mike Smith is yawn-city! Good thing for him, he is balanced out by his assistants. Cox, Robiskie and the special teams coach were at least entertaining and the players seem to rally around them.
Lombardi's_kid_brother
Atlanta seems designed by God to breed terribly boring sports teams. I blame the airport.
CRobi21
That clip of Robiskie talking about his big 3 WRs in the meeting, and how he was gonna get on them about the preseason game in the next practice was great. "They think they pretty, can't run an simple out route. ****ers ain't gonna get me fired." Lol
