Jerry Jones predicts 10 wins for Dallas<br /><br />Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said on Thursday that his team can win 10 games this season and compete for a playoff spot, as reported by the Dallas Morning News today. Jones used that as his explanation for not launching the team into an all-out rebuilding process, saying, "I believe we have the talent and ability to improve to the point that we can win 10 ballgames, and the decisions I’m making are based on that."<br /> <br /> [ January 25, 2002: Message edited by: Die Hard ]

Well, this could be great news. I figure they've got about the same odds of winning 10 games as we do of winning the Super Bowl.

(Actually, I think our odds may be better).

Anybody know any Cowboy boards we can forward this to? Anything to get discussion away from a certain baseball wannabe.

Excellent! evil.gif

The longer JJ thinks he can hold off an implosion (that has already occured, BTW), the longer the Cowboys stink and the longer the bandwagon of obnoxious Cowboy fans stays empty. Thanks to those rings Dallas won in the pre-cap era, JJ is retaining his delusions of granduer far longer than most owners would.

Now if only we can figure out a way to beat those guys ...

Not likely. But not really that funny either, considering that Dallas pretty much owns us the past few years.

Let's just hope we don't lose two to Dallas this year...

Careful B92, with comments like that we might warm to you after all (warmth of course being the only way that a Buc can survive).

At any rate, all I make that Jones comment out to be is shameless pimping of a bad team in order to get public money to pay for a new stadium to replace the spitoon. Read this for details:

  • 6 years later...

Any team in the NFC East can win 10 games in any given season. Injuries usually play it out, usually at the QB position. The sad thing is that it's SUCH a tough division, any one of these 4 teams could lose 10 as well.

Where are all the media critics? How come ESPN doesn't bad mouth him. WTF?! Snyder sneezes and they bad mouth that.

It's not news worthy because most people who are know football recognizethat Dallas is very talented. I know, you think Washington has some players, but you just are not a playoff team. You won't be for some time.
