SkinsNatsFan
http://www.bengals.com/ The Bengals continued to shore up their special teams and speed Monday in picking up the Redskins’ pair of third-round draft picks from the 2002 season, when Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis ran the Washington defense. They claimed cornerback Rashad Bauman off waivers, put him on the 53-man roster, and released rookie wide receiver Maurice Mann. They also placed Washington wide receiver Cliff Russell on the practice squad after he cleared waivers. The 5-8, 185-pound Bauman, 26, out of Oregon, played in 28 games in Washington the past two seasons and made two interceptions and 40 tackles. Russell, 26, missed his rookie season with a knee injury, and caught two balls in three games last season.
BG
As usual, our trash is their treasure. Although Bauman isn't trash. Oh well.

SoCalSkins
Good for Bauman. So many times you see decent players fade away without being given another chance.

bulldog
what is funny is that Lewis had so little respect for Cerrato and Spurrier and the cast of characters here in DC, yet he seems to have his antennas up for every Redskins draft choice or UDFA signed during that season he was here

inmate running the asylum
Originally posted by panel I saw that one coming, Rusell though was a suprize, How is even ellagible for practice sqaud? Russell missed his entire rookie season due to injury, and evidently was not on the active roster last year more than 8 games. Therefore he only has one accrued season, which makes him eligible for the practice squad. Russell must not have impressed Gibbs at all, otherwise we would have signed him to our practice squad. Gamebreaker
Bauman was a good pickup, but i don't know about Russell. He's proven absolutely nothing as a pro.
