Can't get mad at the Twins for losing 2/3 to a better team…

I hear ya, just venting! They birds played with no urgency and it’s tough to win against anyone when that happens. They were resting Adley behind the plate and getting days off for others almost like - yea if we win, great but….

The path to the AL East goes through the Rays and it starts these next four games. The only true outcomes that would be disastrous would be to get swept and that’s something that I don’t see happening for ether team.

Friday is sold out. Saturday should be a big crowd as well. Hopefully this is a memorable weekend.

Mounty going on the IL with a shoulder injury stinks. Hopefully it’s a quick stint with some inflammation and not a season-ender.

If you’re not ready for playoff baseball, this weekend is the primer.

It’s getting grim to write this… let’s hope the Os found their bats again.

Orioles Magic Number update for September 15

15: AL home field advantage (must surpass Tampa; tiebreaker still TBD with season series at 6-4 Orioles with 3 to play)

15: Win the AL East (must surpass Tampa; tiebreaker still TBD with season series at 6-4 Orioles with 3 to play)

15: Clinch a Wild Card bye (must surpass Tampa; tiebreaker still TBD with season series at 6-4 Orioles with 3 to play)

4: Eliminate the Blue Jays from winning the division (Orioles have tiebreaker)

4*: Clinch a playoff appearance (Seattle\Texas\Toronto playing for last 2 wild cards, but Seattle and Texas can't both get to 95 wins since they still play each other 7 times)

DONE AND DONE: Eliminate the Red Sox from winning the division

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED: Eliminate the Yankees from winning the division

They picked a bad time to lose 3 in a row for the first time in a long time..

Yesterday they blew their big run scoring opportunity and went down 6th-9th without as much as a scare. Rutschman rolled over into an inning ending DP and it was over. In the playoffs, you don't get that many opportunities. They're going to face the 'A' pen essentially every game and that's just what happened yesterday.

Win or lose, we're going to learn some things about this club. And every time things started to look a little sideways with these kids, they have righted the ship and took off.

After this series we have the Astros, Indians, Nationals and Red Sox

Tampa has the Angels, Blue Jays, the Red Sox and then the Blue Jays again.

So their schedule is a little tougher, only playoff team we face is the Astros while the Blue Jays are fighting for the WC

Not the end of the world if we only take one game in this series.  Just don't get swept.
