Arrest warrant issued for man accused of confronting NBC's Shaquille Brewster on live TV

Mississippi police issued an arrest warrant Tuesday for an Ohio man who they say confronted NBC News' Shaquille Brewster on live television.

The man, Benjamin Eugene Dagley, of Wooster, Ohio, will be charged with two counts of simple assault, one count of disturbing the peace and one count of violating an emergency curfew, Gulfport police said in a statement.

He could also be in violation of his probation in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, if he traveled without authorization, police said.

Edit:

Apparently this guy has a history of psychotic behavior (as well as a punchable face):

Man drilled holes in tanks of cyanide, acid at Cleveland company he once owned, police said

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A Wooster man faces criminal charges after he broke into an electroplating company he once owned and drilled holes in tanks of dangerous chemicals, Cleveland police investigators said.

The incident sent one employee to the hospital for exposure to toxic chemicals, and risked a potential environmental disaster, according to a Cleveland police report.

Benjamin Dagley, 50, is charged with breaking and entering in the Aug. 22 incident at Cleveland Plating on East 134th Street in the South Collinwood neighborhood.

Dagley was identified in police reports as a former co-owner of the business, but court records indicate he owned a similar electroplating company at the same location before Cleveland Plating took over, and he still owns the property itself.

Employees called police around 8 p.m. Aug. 22 after a security guard discovered gas escaping in one of the facility's chemical rooms.

Surveillance footage later revealed Dagley drilled into tanks of sodium cyanide, hydrochloric acid, yellow chromate, ferrous chloride, and sulfuric acid, according to a current owner, Ed Cochran.

"If you mix the (cyanide and hydrochloric acid), you basically have the cyanide gas of World War I," Cochran said. "It certainly would produce a toxic vapor that could kill."

One dead after monster tornadoes tear through New Jersey, batters NYC

The remnants of Hurricane Ida cut a path of destruction through New York and New Jersey Wednesday night, leaving flooded streets impassable, knocking out subway service, canceling hundreds of flights — and spawning tornados that flattened homes.

Ida pummeled the tri-state area with furious downpours and Mayor de Blasio declared a state of emergency in the Big Apple as epic flooding drenched the five boroughs and a tornado watch was slapped on most of the region.

“We’re enduring an historic weather event tonight with record breaking rain across the city, brutal flooding and dangerous conditions on our roads,” de Blasio said.

“Please stay off the streets tonight and let our first responders and emergency services get their work done.”

“If you’re thinking of going outside, don’t,” he warned. “Stay off the subways. Stay off the roads. Don’t drive into these heavy waters.”

The torrential flooding in Passaic, New Jersey caused the death of one person, and the mayor, Hector C. Lora said the body could not be recovered until the waters receded, a report said.

Before-and-after aerial images show devastation left by Ida in Louisiana

Until a hurricane like Ida passes, it's difficult to know what kind of damage has been done. It isn't until days after the storm makes landfall that images like those below emerge, clearly showing the destruction left in the storm's wake.

Leading up to Ida, the National Weather Service in New Orleans said "This storm is forecast to bring DEVASTATING impacts to portions of South East Louisiana."

Here you can take a look for yourself at some of the scars Ida left behind in Louisiana. Move the slider to the right to see images from before the storm and move it to the left to see the after imagery.

Devastation in LA sadly was expected but you look what this storm did across multiple states as it’s just a reminder that we put so much emphasis on categories and this storm was a tropical storm or weaker for most of its time after LA.  Flooded out TN.  Death and floods in NY, NJ, PA,MS etc. Again this is where I worry about our preparedness in the mid Atlantic.  Hell NC’s last hurricane put the state out of commission.  You had people detouring around them because they didn’t have roads. Mother Nature just gave us another **** slap with a storm that you probably thought the worst was over after it got though LA/MS.

Man attacked by alligator in flooded Louisiana waters after Hurricane Ida

Hurricane Ida has destroyed homes, left millions without power and killed at least two people. But perhaps most ominous, it's brought danger in the water that's flooding into communities.

Officials say a man was attacked by an alligator in some of those flooded Louisiana waters Monday. The man's wife witnessed the attack that happened near the city of Slidell, which is just across Lake Pontchartrain from New Orleans, Jason Gaubert, a spokesman for the St. Tammany Fire District No. 1, told USA TODAY.

Gaubert said the attack took the man's arm off and his wife went to call for help. When she returned, he had disappeared in the flood waters. The man's body hasn't been recovered and officials were investigating.

Human Remains Found Inside Alligator From Hurricane Ida Attack

Louisiana authorities say a 504-pound alligator suspected of devouring a man amid chaotic Hurricane Ida flooding has been caught —along with “what appears to be human remains” in its belly. The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office made the grim announcement in a Facebook post on Monday detailing the 12-foot-long beast’s capture after a two-week hunt. The alligator was found near the area where 71-year-old Timothy Satterlee was last seen on Aug. 30, police said. Satterlee’s wife has said she managed to pull him away from the massive beast after it attacked him amid rising floodwaters that day, but after pulling him to the front steps of the home and leaving to go get help, he was gone.

Locals on La Palma island (Canary Islands) report that part of the land associated with the volcano is tearing away.

If a large section of the volcano tears, this could cause an Atlantic wide tsunami. This is not a guarantee that this will happen, merely a statement of the worst case scenario at play if the situation deteriorates further. Geologists on site state this currently highly unlikely to occur, however are frequently monitoring ground movements and will send out alerts if neccessary.

Charlie Hustle is coming...but it looks like we'll be ... safe.

Tropical storms Peter and Rose roam Atlantic amid another historically busy hurricane season

We’re officially into the second half of hurricane season, but the atmosphere shows no sign of slowing its roll. Two more named storms cropped up over the weekend, and another string of named systems is likely during the coming week or two in the Atlantic.

AAODNTR.img?h=522&w=799&m=6&q=60&o=f&l=f

The good news is that neither of the two named storms, Peter and Rose, nor two additional disturbances under investigation are a threat to land at the moment. But they are part and parcel of an unrelenting season that ranks among the most active on record to date. Only two other seasons since 1966 have seen more storms to this point: last year and 2005.

There's an invest coming off Africa now that's riding low. If it gains strength, could be a rough one down here. Hope Pete and rose pull it up, but they don't think so.

I guess the consensus is it won't break off in one large chunk, so the tsunami wouldn't be as catastrophic as having to read Donald trumps twitter.

A world first: Ocean drone captures video from inside a hurricane

Saildrone Inc. and the NOAA have released the first video footage gathered by an uncrewed surface vehicle (USV) from inside a major hurricane barreling across the Atlantic Ocean.

The Saildrone Explorer SD 1045 was directed into the midst of Hurricane Sam, a category 4 hurricane, which is currently on a path that fortunately will miss the U.S. east coast.  SD1045 is battling 50 foot waves and winds of over 120 mph to collect critical scientific data and, in the process, is giving us a completely new view of one of earth’s most destructive forces.
