Sell everyone: Doolittle, Rendon, anyone not nailed down. They decided to treat the last year-plus like the playoffs. Ok. You went too far from me. I want better investment in coaching and the bullpen. That's where I am.

We have nothing in the bullpen beyond Doo, with very little help on the way, of any. Our minors has Kieboom and Garcia. We haven't developed a starter since 2015. A reliever since, Clippard? There aren't just cracks in the foundation, there are fissures. 3 minutes ago, bearrock said: We still have to keep the long term pieces. I'm thinking we'll get a haul for Rendon. Another big factor is that we have a ton of deferred money coming due (particularly to Scherzer and Strasburg) in the mid 2020s. They’ll no longer be playing for us, and the Nats will be paying them a significant chunk of money every year. That’s going to seriously limit our ability to field a competitive team. This has been looming (and building) for years. On one hand, knowing we had/have a window with a really good rotation makes it justifiable to go 100% win-now. But you’ve got to think of when to pull the plug and admit we’ve squandered the window... teams often try to double down on win-now when it’s a year too late for them and their ability to initiate an effective rebuild is impacted by that. I’m not completely sure we are at that point yet where we should tear it down and sell off our best players... but I’m also not sure we aren’t at that point. Really tough decision to make knowing you’re going from an 80-90 win team to a 60-70 win team, immediately and intentionally.

Add to this we are receiving no television revenue. None. Which direction to go when you have back-to-back 80-85 win seasons is a tough decision... Cooleyfan1993
Lol what do the nats have against winning series openers? They’ve been 1-6 in series openers and 6-1 in series finales this season. Also they must really love .500, cause they’ve been 3-3, 4-4, 5-5, 6-6, 7-7, 8-8, 9-9, and now 10-10 😂😂 they had this same problem last year too

Eh, he was up and warm already because it was only 3-0 in the 9th before we tacked on a couple runs. Wasn’t a big deal to send him in there for his 10 pitches or whatever to close it down. Barraclough wasn’t a fan of being yanked though.
