In London you'll be absolutely fine, there are a number of Sports Bar Franchises predominantly based around NFL on Sunday evenings ('Bodeans', 'The Sports Bar').

Don't be surprised if you don't come across anywhere to watch games outside of London though, it can be hit and miss. Let me know where you're likely to be and I may be able to find out / already know. P.S. Happy Hour doesn't really exist over here.

London isn't huge on guided tours and I personally believe the best way to experience the City is research and DIY exploring. However, here are a few which I've been recommended:

- Jack the Ripper Tour

- Fat Tire Bike Tour (good work)

- Big Bus London (a hop-on, hop-off tour of the capital)

- Tower of London (the free, guided tours start every 15 minutes and are good fun)

- Stonehenge, Windsor Castle and Bath all in one day trip (if you have the time)

Harry Potter experience is just outside Watford, which is easily reachable on the train from Euston Station in half an hour (a Zone 1, central London mainline Rail Station).

I signed up for the Jack the Ripper tour and fat tire bike tour.  I am thinking about doing Stone henge, windsor castle and bath with a tour company. It's about 100 bucks for all 3 attractions to include bus to those places.

Just my opinion but if you are only in London a few days I would consider giving Stonehenge etc a miss.  It's a good couple of hours driving each way to Bath (if the M4 has traffic you will miss the beltway), stay in London you'll find loads to do.

Most of us are in London for a week.  That is why we booked that one day adventure through a tour company. :) We want to see more than just the city but a little countryside too

BTW I am staying in Kensington and arrive early morning on 10/27.  :)

Found an interesting website/app called matchpint..... Might help locate bars or venues showing some games. Looks like the Carlsberg sports bar at the empire casino shows NFL games and is open 24/7... Has anyone been to this sports bar?

Hippodrome right around the corner from there in Leicester Square is much better food/drink wise and when I went after a Wembley game a couple of years ago (I'm from London) they showed every single 1pm (6pm over here) game on a different screen across different rooms.

Bodeans is also a good shout as mentioned as the food is incredible but Hippodrome would be a bit more roomy/bigger screens/more drinks.

i posted a plea the classifieds last month but not sure how many folks go in there .....

I am currently after 2 tickets for the Bengals game. I wasn't going to bother, but a London weekend is tempting now with the Palace- L'pool game the Sat'day tea-time. Along with a great looking beer festival at Norwood Junction that day.

So if anyone knows of any spares ..... I could happily reciprocate with aforementioned soccer game

so would you recommend an oyster card or a travel card.

If your CC is contactless, roll with that. Straight forward and the same rate as an Oyster.

Hail.

Myself, & a group of 2 others are coming in from LA.  We all got flights through Kayak.com for $600- $700.  Nonstop...but we started early.

They're gonna trip to Holland first, & I'll be meeting them in London on the 28th.  I really wanted to pick up a foot....err soccer match, but the team i want to see most will be playing at the Stadium of Light that weekend.  Booooooo.

Anywho...not yet decided on which jersey I'll be wearing, but I'll be the short portly gent, amongst a medium sized, & another tall, lanky dude.

Meet up should be paramount though...

Regarding an EPL game, Tottenham vs. Leicester City is on Saturday the 29th.  That appears to be the closest game to central London that weekend.  The stadium only seats 35,000 or so, and there are a few sites selling tickets in certain seating zones, but with no specific seats.  Here is a link to the best prices that I have found:

http://www.livefootballtickets.com/fixtures/tottenham-hotspur-v-leicester-city-tickets-english-premier-league.html

You cannot buy tickets directly for the game unless you are a member of the Spurs fan club, with costs about 45 to 50 pounds.  Once the tickets sell out, then they will be available on Stub Hub UK, which will allow you to select the individual seat(s).  From what I have seen, it might be cheaper to wait until the tickets are available on StubHub.

As for my, I am staying at the London Marriott Hotel Park Lane and will be seating in Lower Sideline 123 row 18 for the 'Skins game.

I'm staying at the Novetel on Olympic way at Wembley..... I'm looking to get a tailgate there or close to there for game day...

I'd avoid that tailgate - looks expensive. Best bet is to drink at the pubs around Baker Street and Wembley on the day, which will be absolutely buzzing.

I agree, we will be checking out the local pre game scene and possibly doing our own tailgate setup.

Yep, it's okay.

Matchpint is a little bit inconsistent with how accurate it is. I've tried to find pubs showing certain soccer games before and although advertised on matchpint, weren't actually on.

Not us.   $86.00 pp for wings, burgers, beer, chips and salsa is kinda steep.   That, and it looks like they have the party, for both teams in the same space.

Welcome to London. Please leave your credit card at the door as you enter ...:)

They're will be 6 of us going: My wife & I, friend & his wife, my son & his buddy. The old peeps are staying in a 2BR condo at 51 Buckingham Gate near the Palace.

My wife and I will be nearby, at the Grosvenor, Victoria Station.

We probably won't be settled in, until early Saturday evening, and hoping to join some type of Redskins rally.

We're going to the Tower, (on our own),on Monday, the 31st,(Halloween!) and a Jack the Ripper walking tour that evening. On Tuesday, we're taking a day trip to Stonehenge, Bath and a "secret place", (according to the tour operator). We typically eschew tours, but the Stonehenge/Bath/?? tour is highly rated, and it will be a small group.

No plans for Wednesday yet. I'd like to see the Churchill War and London Bridge.and Mrs Skinfan will not let us leave, until she's had an afternoon tea. There's too much to see, and too little time, so we'll do what we can, without running ourselves ragged.

We'll be in Dublin, before London, so.I imagine that we'll get most of our drinking done there!
