Corcaigh
This is a symptom of how badly many in the UK don't get their place in the world outside of the EU. A senior, and well-respected BBC journalist, suggests in an interview with an Irish Minister that a solution to the issue of the Irish border post Brexit is for the Republic of Ireland to join the UK. FFS. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/jan/26/john-humphrys-suggests-ireland-could-quit-eu-and-join-uk That is a dumber idea than suggesting the solution to the US southern border is for the USA to be a Mexican state. At 1.3 USD it's well down on historical levels which have been around 1.6.

True, but I don't think there's ever been an event quite like a hard Brexit. On the other hand, I could also see Parliament salvaging a deal at the last second, if Labor defects and the Tories split like they did before. It could be they're just playing chicken with the EU. I can't see the EU budging much though, because if they make an exception for the UK, you would start see other countries demanding the same special deal, and the EU would implode and it would revert back to a simple FTA.
