benskins26
**** that. Get anything you can for him. I always liked McNabb, at least until this year, but if the Eagles owe him nothing, then neither do we. Get anything you can for him. Don't care what he wants. Gibbs Hog Heaven
There's zero way that's happening. We'll make sure we get something for him, not let him walk for free. But yes, there's now no question the way this has all wound up that the trade was an unmitigated disaster. Now we get what we can and move on. Hail. GoodOnPaper
This is not surprising. However, I think we'll atleast recoup a 4th round pick from Minny.

NewCliche21
I can't wait for this to be over. I'm thrilled that Shanahan is going to cut his losses. Other coaches would've made the mistake in the trade and then made it worse by trying to tough it out.

Command The 414
truly sad situation here...gave up alot to get him, got nothing but headache from him, and it appears won't get nothing of much value from him now either.....probably a late round draft pick that won't crack the practice squad.... I hate that we wasted the draft picks with the trade but I'm glad Shanahan isn't making us put up with McNabb's suckiness for the next 3-4 years. Hitman21ST
If the source "close to McNabb" is his agent, I might not take this seriously.

Other coaches would've made the mistake in the trade and then made it worse by trying to tough it out. Like he did with Haynesworth? We've seen this movie before and Shanahan didn't handle it very well. He's established he has no problem not cutting his losses and not having the foresight to get something in return when he has the chance. Let's hope he learned something. SonnyRules
Unfortunately if I were in his shoes, I'd be asking for my release as will. It is what it is. We created this mess and now we live with the consequences.
