TD_washingtonredskins
That would do nothing but kill any value he has(which is already an all-time low). The best case scenario, long term, might be for Gil to come in and play well but for us to continue losing. That way we can trade him for some nice long term assets and salary relief. Good point...I just think his time in DC has run out.
No Excuses
Good point...I just think his time in DC has run out. Perhaps it has. But the guy has still a lot of productive years left as an NBA player. I really think Orlando should try to acquire him. He's the perfect perimeter player Dwight Howard needs. Gilbert is everything Vince Carter is not. Gilbert shines when the spotlight is on him and the game is on the line. Besides the botched FT's against Cleveland, he's an amazing game closer. True...I just think the Bullets would be best-served to cut ties. That's all. I don't disagree that they should get some value back for him. He's relatively young and, as you say, very talented. G.A.C.O.L.B.
^^^ Tuesday night I think, he busted out two Wiz tix to the home opener during a bit. Be awesome to see him there.
G.A.C.O.L.B.
FTR, I'm still not sold on Blatche. I think people are counting him waaaay too much. I just think he doesn't have the heart to put in the work. It's not all about talent or ability or athleticism or skill set. It's also mental. Passion. Heart. You have to put in the work. And I just don't have faith in him to do that. (Basically, a Nick Young big.) Especially not now after he's got a new deal and been paid. God help us. HOPEFULLY IM WRONG. I can't stress that enough. I'm not hoping for failure so I can rub it in your faces, i.e. Ryman of the North. I hope and pray Blatche makes me look like a fool.
No Excuses
It's all about expectations. I'm not expecting Blatche to light the world on fire. But he's good at what he does. He has a good face up game and he's a good passer for a big man. Gives you solid rebounding and good defense. He's not a world beating talent but he's no where close to being a Nick Young type of a scrub. Young is probably the most one dimensional player I have ever seen. Besides scoring, he literally does nothing. Blatche has a very well developed overall game, he's just not exceptional at anything. G.A.C.O.L.B.
I'm not talking about a NY comparison in terms of their on the court game. I'm talking about the mental aspect. The heart aspect. The passion and work ethic aspect. Neither of them is as bad Javale though. At least not mentally. Which is shocking when you consider his mother. You'd think she would have taught him the game. That she didn't or, even worse, that he didn't pick it up is very discouraging.

G.A.C.O.L.B.
Just got home so I don't know what's happened so far in the first half, but they're only down 3 so that's encouraging. And it's just beautiful to hear Buck and Phil calling the game. I missed that.
No Excuses
Thornton is having a really good game. The refs are calling a really annoying game. I know fouls happen, but sometimes, you gotta let the ticky tacky stuff go away. Calling a super tight game really kills the purpose.
G.A.C.O.L.B.
Yeah I see Thorton has 20 through about 2 1/2 quarters. And they started calling multiple illegal screens as soon as I turned the TV on. Lame.

No Excuses
How has Yi looked? Looked good. Made his jump shots and didn't stink it up on defense. Everyone is having a good game so far. Blatche started off terrible but he's picked it up too. I saw Nick come in the game but I was busy cooking so I didn't see what he did. Probably nothing. G.A.C.O.L.B.
I said last week on D Hall's pick six, that he looked like he entered the Matrix when Cutler threw the ball and was able to jump in front of the receiver while time slowed to an almost stop. John Wall stays in the Matrix.
No Excuses
I'm really liking what McGee has done this game. When he's not running around like a headless chicken, he's a nightmare for opposing players attacking the rim. These refs are absolutely terrible. Here comes Hilton Armstrong. ****. G.A.C.O.L.B.
It's not often that you're able to see a rookie take over a game like that. Not hardly. He is going to be such a beast. Get a shot and the world is yours Mr. Wall.

G.A.C.O.L.B.
Is it just me or does it always look like Ted's hands come straight out of his chest? That he's got no arms. Like a T Rex or something. Pay attention next time they're interviewing him. Edited October 31, 2010 by G.A.C.O.L.B.
G.A.C.O.L.B.
Man ****ing offensive fouls. Ticky tacky calls all game. This is really ****ing annoying. They do this **** every year. They decide they want to put an emphasis on something so then the first few weeks they act like Nazi's about it. Eventually it fades back into what it always is. No Excuses
I really really hate Zaza Pachulia. It's also pissing me off how many jumpers our big men shoot. G.A.C.O.L.B.
Lol, Wall is so fast it's impossible for defenders to ever get set on him so he just keeps causing blocking fouls after blocking fouls.
