The Cowboy Bamma Rocker
He's a good red zone threat/check down asset, it's only recently it seems he hasn't been as good. Plus, it's not like they're game planning around the man. He can rack up the yards, remember this? http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=video&cd=2&ved=0CD4QtwIwAQ&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DRWW IBUbRD-I&ei=uO6RTJLECMP98AbeidnXBQ&usg=AFQjCNHlTNEQgOkhosoe5xuR1V2tAKmfHw
maskedsuperstar
Sellers has to be able too catch the ball, in Shanahans offense. This might be his last year around here.

But the NFL is a what can you do for me now business, and Sellers is too inconsistent. I'm not knocking the guy, i'm just saying, he's has to be able to catch, every pass they throw to im, or else he's out.
MustangSteve
I give him 1 more game like the Dallas game, and he won't see the field except from the sideline. It's not only the dropped passes, he misses all his blocks as well. Shanny won't put up with that at all.
The Cowboy Bamma Rocker
I know that was in the past, but it was only two years ago. I agree, let's see how he does in the next few games, not everyone plays well week 1. If he continues to play poorly, then I'll be concerned
bgreg
I think Sellers is a dangerous red zone receiving threat, especially if he's only targeted once a game or every other game, meaning opposing D's won't plan for it. I agree that he does need to catch the damn ball though.
JGordon_3
I think the more important question is, when are the Skins going to stop PLAYING Mike Sellers? He's been regressing for a while now. He misses blocks, drops passes, and his only contribution comes on special teams.
polywog999
LOL! I was thinking the same thing....they have to fix that. He only catches a few balls and drops waaaay too many!
Kosher Ham
Throw it to him more, and when he starts trucking LB's and DB's you might look at it a little differently.
onedrop
as soon as they start throwing it to K. Williams out of the backfield.
Drastik
Mike Sellers is a terrible football player. He doesnt block anyone, he can't catch, and he's slower than Trent Williams. Please play Darrel Young
#98QBKiller
Sellers is the most overrated Redskin I can ever remember. He does nothing but drop passes, fumble and miss blocks.

E-Dog Night
Mike Sellers is a terrible football player. He doesnt block anyone, he can't catch, and he's slower than Trent Williams. About sums it up. I was watching the replay last night on NFL Network. Sellers straight up missed about half his blocks, and the other half he just sort of made incidental contact with his man. I suspect there were in the neighborhood of at least 25 rushing yards left on the field as a result of Sellers disgusting blocking effort. And I use the word "effort" lightly. He's just terrible at this point.
Captain Wiggles
Sellers is the most overrated Redskin I can ever remember. He does nothing but drop passes, fumble and miss blocks. I agree, I'll never forget his fumble on the GL in Cincinnati in 08'. Back to back chances to get in the end zone from the one and what does he do? Dead Money
Every time see them throwing the ball to him, he drops it about 90% or barely gets yards. When they cut his ass... dude has done ZERO since he got his last pay bump. He needs to go. I know, he was a likeable story and character for years around here, but he makes that block the other night and we get 6. He catches a couple balls, we extend drives. I've always pulled for him but I really think his time has been served. Good for him we've drafted 20 fb's in the last 10 yrs and non of them ever work out. hoskins
Not sure what happened to him, but he's not been very good since the new contract. Real shame. Hopefully Shanahan can fix him or sit him.

He's just terrible at this point. This exactly. I don't know how many times Sunday night I asked "why the hell is Sellers on the ground again"? It's like he makes as minimal contact as possible and then trips himself completely out of the play. I could see if was blocking low to provide a block, but he seemed to just fall to the ground after contact and the defenders had no problems getting around him at that point. And as far as catching the ball, I have no idea what thats about. I'll have to go look at the boxscore, but my memory tells me he was something like 1 for 5 for a yard, maybe two :whoknows: EDIT: What do you know, I go to NFL.com and there he is right there on the main page staring at me. Stats don't give how many times he was targeted but he recorded 1 catch for 2 yds.
RichmondRedskin88
He's paid to block and catch. He doesn't do either. What are they gonna pay him to do? Be waterboy?
