ljs
I think this may have been mentioned in passing awhile back, but our very own Clint Didier is running for United States Senator in my home state of Washington. He is trying to oust Democrat Patty Murry. A good friend of mine who is a new state delegate got a chance to meet Clint last night, and hear him speak. Since I live right on the Idaho/WA border, and am in WA every day for work, I see his campaign signs everywhere. I haven't had the chance to read up on him, and I am no longer a registered voter in WA, so I guess my opinion doesn't matter anyway. But he is in Spokane, WA (the town I work in) on April 16th, so I'm going to at least go see him. I met him as a young kid, have a signed hat. He has been farming and coaching about 30 minutes north of where I grew up. Agree with him or not politically, its cool that another Redskin is attempting to serve our country. Here is his website- http://www.clintdidier.org I can't find a pic of his campaign sign that I can get to show as a pic on here, so a link will have to do for now. He has a pic of a football helmet with a red R. Nice spin off... http://node4.nirvanix.com/polldaddy/polldaddy/images/1265557172_7954-x.jpg
Perky72
Cool for Clint! Loved him and Don Warren back in the day. Nice helmet for the campaign! Heath Shuler is well-known, but a lesser-known (as a Redskin) politician was Tom Osbourne, the former Nebraska HC and GOP rep. for six years in the '00s. He played WR for us in '60 and '61: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Osborne http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/O/OsboTo00.htm Any other former Skins politicians? I didn't realize Osborne was a Skin...I'm a huge Cornhusker fan, my moms family is all from there and my uncle played for Tom in the early 70's, 2 of the championship teams. I knew he was in politics though.

Burgold
Didier was a great Redskin. I'm surprised he's a Republican though. With all their homosexual scandals recently, I didn't think Repubs would accept a tight end.

I'm sure (thinking of another former NFL ® associated with this state --Largent) you'd suggest that the repubs would only be interested in <cough> wide receivers. HailinginSeattle
Everytime I go up north in the state I see Clint Didier signs, they have a football helmet on them with an 'R' on the helmet. I like to think the R is for Redskins, but I'm sure it's more for Republican. His slogan relates to football also, I forget the exact verbiage but I think it says something about "playing on an even field".

nonniey
Now that Rossi officially entered, Clint is a super longshot to win the GOP nod. True but it was a long shot that he would have defeated Murrey, Rossi stands a decent chance of winning.
