ixcuincle
http://blogs.nfl.com/2010/01/06/cribbs-agent-no-choice-but-to-demand-a-trade/ J.R. Rickert, the agent for Pro Bowl return specialist/receiver Josh Cribbs, said that the Cleveland Browns’ final offer in the ongoing contract negotiations between Cribbs and the team have left him no choice but to demand a trade. Cribbs, who set an NFL record for career return touchdowns this season and was promised a new deal above his veteran minimum contract by previous team management, was offered a new deal with an average salary of $1.4 million per season on a six-year deal, according to Rickert, with roughly $400,000 to sign. Cribbs, who is signed through 2012, has been working with the team in an effort to get a new contract since before the season began. “We’re going to formally put in a request for a trade,” Rickert said. “He will not set foot in that facility again. If they had offered even something like $2.5 million per season we could have worked with them, but to me this offer is indefensible.” Could we use a young phenom stud like Cribbs? Skins4SB
Yes. We need someone who can return kicks and punts and can also use in some gimmick plays within the offense. Also, not to mention he is a local guy and a Skins fan.
Rudy165
We never should have cut him in the first place. Yes, he would be quite useful.

Enter Apotheosis
No. We don't have the draft picks to spare for this guy. As dynamic as he is I still wouldn't put him on the level of a Percy Harvin or Desean Jackson. We never should have cut him in the first place. Yes, he would be quite useful. He's from DC but he was never on our roster.

DCchillin89
NOOO! Find someone like Cribbs in the draft. This would be a typical Cerrato move. Don't just get the player with the hot name but find the ones that fit our system. These kinds of players like Cribbs (Hester, Dante Hall) aren't the most reliable. Would we overpay for this guy when we really should out to be spending our FA focused on the line.
hoskins
Fred Davis for Josh Cribbs Or Cooley for Cribbs and a real nice pick.
LaRonDontLikeUgly
Josh Cribbs is not Dante Hall or Devin Hester... he is way more versatile. Easily one of my favorite players in the league, I would LOVE to see this local guy in a Skins jersey. However, he is going to come at a REALLY high price as he comes off his most productive season thus far. It's crazy because it seems like this guy scores TDs every week, but after 5 seasons Cribbs only has 16 career touchdowns. (8 of them being kickoff returns which is just insane) With ARE most likely being cut this offseason, Cribbs would be the perfect answer to our special teams woes and this is one of the few guys I would actually considering trading Cooley for.... bushwack
The Skins need to keep and acquire as many draft picks as they possibly can, so they can rebuild the offense quicker; instead of trading draft picks away on specialists.

McD5
There is no way they would let Cribbs go. No way.
SirClintonPortis
Santana Moss DeAngelo Hall That's two potential PRs right there. Devin Thomas That's the kick returner. Then there's Shanahan drafting the next Eddie Royal or finding an UDFA to do punt/kick returns.
REDSKINZ-RIDEORDIE
Miami should go after him, they run all of those stupid azz gimmick plays....
MumboSauce
No way the Browns let him go, that dude can do it all. Amazing football player. I just read Holmgren is gonna offer him a nice extension.

Jeff in D.C.
The Skins need to keep and acquire as many draft picks as they possibly can, so they can rebuild the offense quicker; instead of trading draft picks away on specialists. This. Not to mention that Cribbs is going to demand way too much money for that position. I'm sure they'll be a guy in the later rounds who we can get to fill that role, and being a late-rounder he'll come cheap.

Jerome Harrison isn't going anywhere You don't trade for a special teams ace when you're team is in shambles...
kiingspadee
2 things 1.) YOU DO NOT TRADE CHRIS COOLEY! Man this guy doesn't play for a season because he is INJURED and people just want to get rid of the man! 2.) GO FOR IT! Dude we need someone who can make plays and as Coach said Offense Defense AND SPECIAL TEAMS you need to be the best! Guess what Cribbs IS the best at that - we need him! I say try to trade Portis for Cribbs and a pick or something.
Redskinzfan30
No to Cribbs. The only way we get him is if he's cut.

Cribbs is very young, while Portis isn't young in playing years left (due to his position).
acuratl1984
We never should have cut him in the first place. Yes, he would be quite useful. We never had him, he was signed as an UDFA... I believe the coaching staff meet with him and told him he was going to be a UDFA and we would like to sign him but not draft him etc.... I remember he was pretty upset with the Redskins when we played the Browns a few years ago.
