The 2nd will be for him to praise Bartel as the next instert-UDFA/Unknown FA QB-with-a-modicum-of-success-here. Why bring in another guy to get beat up? Again how can you assess the talent you have when you systematically are deficient, making everyones performance suspect? So if this new guys struggles, he's no good? I mean why not sign an o-lineman to take Rheinhart's position? Why not get some young o-linemen, and see what they can do? It will effect how we draft in 2010. Man this team's management is completely inept! Uh, they did. They signed Fanaika from the Eagles PS on Monday. As for the signing, what makes you think he will see the field at all this season? Also, do you think that this team doesn't need to evaluate QBs? Then there some real hot looking Indian gals who have graced Hollywood. Persis Khambata (sp?) Was one of them. She was the bald gal in the original Star Trek. Exactly. They signed an offensive lineman from the Eagles so I don't get the point. EVERYBODY knows the line is weak but you're not going to get a ProBowl linemen off the street in Week 11. In the meantime it make much more sense to go get younger prospects for other teams practice squads then to go get old vets like a Runyan who won't be around next year and isn't very good anymore to begin with. In regarss to the QB, why not take a flier on a guy. Its apparent that JC doesn't have a long-term future here and we don't have a #2 in the wings either so take a look at this guy in practice or maybe even a Week 17 game and see if he has anything. You're not going to find your long term starting QB on somebody's scrap heap. Johnny Unitas (NFL HOF) would like to have a word with you... as would Kurt Warner (Super Bowl MVP), Jeff Garcia (multiple Pro Bowler), and Rich Gannon (NFL MVP).
