Da Truth
I was looking at this 4th quarter comeback from 2002 with Pitt vs. CLE and ARE was looking like the next best thing to slice bread out there..has his abilities diminished that much? I mean he seemed UNSTOPPABLE in the slot..1 drive he had 3 catches for 56 yds..thats like his stat line an entiree game for the Redskins..what do yall think? dwbiggs
I seem to remember, I think it was a pre-season game, when he was a rookie playing us and he just wore us out in that game...they couldn't catch him.

SWFLSkins
2002-2009, seven years has affected his speed?
DCsportsfan53
He's lost some of his quickness which is part of the reason why he's been so ineffective as a punt returner. It's also why he struggles so mightily to release against press coverage a lot of times. Honestly, his value is as a 3rd or (preferably) 4th wideout for depth, he doesn't really bring much more than that to the table.
bigdoublebass
same thing that happens to all big names who come her...he got overpaid and now sucks
Homercles82
ARE is still a good WR for us. He just doesn't have the speed (perhaps acceleration) we need and he is small. He is, in my opinion, one of the best slot WR in the NFL. Of course what do I know? I am busy pontificating on a message board.
abdcskins
They should just put him at the slot and have him do crossing and slant routes all day. JC can hit him 5 yards out and ARE can scamper for 8-10 yard gains. I think he has pretty good hands and is still quick. Wishful thinking I guess. skins island connection
Zorn hasn't told JC to look for him yet; If I'm not mistaken, I believe it is Cooley's week this sunday, THEN according to the schedule, ARE's timevwill be the following week... Hail Gibbs
I think ARE is still a good slot WR, but ever since he got paid it doesn't look like he is nearly as willing to go north/south in the punt return game.

Pittsburgh has good coaching and know how to get the most out of players. Redskins have bad coaching and seemingly know nothing.
Botched
He's still a good slot WR. His biggest weakness IMO is he is scared of contact.
Hiro
Same thing that happens to all our receivers... Stan Hixon This. If there's one coach I'd get rid of before anyone else, it'd be this guy. We have gotten very little production out of our receiving corps since he's been here.Want to know what a good WR coach can do for your team? Look at Terry Robiskie and the Falcons Wideouts. Roddy White has blossomed into a top 5 player in this league under his tutelage.
p0rtis26
Same thing that happens to all our receivers... Stan Hixon +1 Stan Hixon is the worst coach on this team, and that's quite an accomplishment with this group!
