On the Sports Fix about an hour ago I heard a caller call in in regards to Zorn...

He was saying that during the draw and HB pass plays, when the camera was on Zorn, you could clearly read his lips that he was saying "Draw" and "HB Pass".

I was wondering if anyone has seen or noticed this. I only watched the game live and don't have it recorded so I can't go back and check it out, but I am just wondering if anyone else saw this.

If this is true, this is a problem that must be fixed.

Who knows, maybe someone upstairs for the rams saw him say "HB Pass" and relayed it down to the field, which was why the play was completely stuffed.

I can pretty much guarentee that no coach calls a play what WE call it... They will have some number to "dial in"...

But...

not even close

Zorn called a great game outside the red zone..... the team was prepared and played hard.

judging him as a "bad" coach because he goes conservative in the red zone, is a complete overreaction.

if Sellers and Thomas catch those two end zone passes... no one would be questioning Zorn today

what he said

This is based off an 8-8 season and 2 games this year. We were 31st in scoring avg last year. 13.0 a game.

I heard this on the radio and Kevin Sheehan said he was going to check the video and if he saw that he would tell Zorn about it. basically the caller said Zorn has to hold the play chart so that he covers his mouth because apparently the caller could clearly see him saw "draw" and "Half back pass".

Anyone else has access to this video in the 3rd quarter I believe when we are in the "No TD Zone".

Didn't Joe Gibbs start off 8-8?

No. Joe Gibbs started 0-5. He then went on to win 35 out of his next 40 games, which included two SB appearances (1 win, 1 loss).

Big, BIG difference.

This argument needs to be permanently tossed. I keep hearing it from people and it doesn't have any relevance to Zorn.

Yeah, both guys went 8-8 the first season, but one was clearly on the upswing, the other got to the same record by having his team totally fall apart in the second half of the year.

I say Zorn IS the worst HC in the league right now. From his playcalling to his bizarre demeanor to the way he likes to throw his team under the bus in press conferences ... he's in WAY over his head, he doesn't inspire his players to follow him (quite the contrary), and he seems clueless about way too many things. He, like our team, is feared by NO ONE.

By the end of Gibbs' first year, the Skins were feared by ALL.

No, but Jason should cover his EARS when Zorn is calling the plays

That's probably a good idea, Zorn not being able to tell JC to stare down his receivers or over/underthrow them along with "just stand back and get the ball knocked out"

or perhaps he wouldn't be able to tell him to wait till he passes the LOS to then throw it to the wrong team???

Good point!:hysterical:

Jim Zorn has no OC experience. His HC record is 9-9.

The AFC East is playing solid football, and has solid coaching. Bellicheat, Ryan, Sparano and Jauron. All these teams are playin well and tough. Any look like they could go to Playoffs at this moment in early week 3.

AFC North. Let's see. Lewis, just beat GB in GB and has his QB back and finally a healthy team. Harbaugh, stud. Tomlin, stud. Mangini, he did take the perennial loser Jets to Playoffs in year one. Something Zorn looked like he was going to do. Mangini was having a great year as well with Favre before the shoulder injury and INT's all over the place. He never wanted Favre in the first place and was forced to take him in causing a major rift internally with the team. Is Mangini a better coach than Zorn. IMO, yeah, not even really close. He is so much younger and has the balls to tell Winslow to GTFOH.

AFC South. Jim Caldwell is 2-0 and has Manning and has been with the Colts for 8 years. An internal hire and one with promise. Like Tomlin in Pitt he came into a great team and situation. Kubiak is a good coach. The texans are headed in the right direction. Both Offensively AND Defensively. Fisher = Stud. Jack Del Rio, small market team and not the worst. Meh. Yet, again no obvious blunders.

AFC West. Ok we got some competition for Zorn here baby. Tom Cable. 4-8 last year after taking over for Lane Kiffin and 1-1 this year. Beating K.C in K.C at end of the game and gave ONE HELLUVA FIGHT to S.D Chargers. Wish I saw fire like this from our guys to say the least. Todd Haley. 0-2. ROOKIE HC. Does have experience as a OC and with you know what offense. With a real GM like Pioli, they may get to the playoffs before we do. This is a VERY young team changing to a 3-4 D. Again, they may be worse record wise as of late. But, they are HEADED in the right direction. Josh McDaniels. Ex CO-OC of the Patriot passing attack is 2-0.

Lastly, Norvvvvvvv. He's still there and he has earned it.

NFC West. Singletary. I want his eyes and expression glues on Zorn's face so we get some production. Mora was taken over Zorn in Seattle. A place where the so-called beloved Jim Zorn who was a QB there was passed over. Nor was he made an OC there. Spagnulo. Defensive Master Mind of the NYG as a DC. 0-2 as a ROOKIE HC. Almost beat our gang. You getting the idea here. Has there ever been a HC who was not an NFL Coordinator first...or ever for that matter? In the last 10 years? Ken Whisenhunt. Cardinals, Superbowl, nuff said.

NFC South. Smart as a FOX. Mike Smith went to playoffs as a ROOKIE HC with a Rookie QB as did BALT. We were just unlucky I guess. Sean Payton, nice. Raheem Morris, Rookie HC. 0-2. 21 points vs Dallas and 20 against Buffalo. I could go on and on.

NFC North. Brad Childress. We know who he is as we do Spags, as we will Jason Garrett. Lovie, just went 3 years ago to SB. Just beat Pitt. Sherman and Pack will be fine and IN THE MIX come December. Jim Schwartz, ex Titans DC from 01-08. Are we the team they beat...?

NFC East. Reid, Coughlin. Tops. Wade is a fat **** but he UNDERSTANDS what's goin on. Zorn blows as a HC. He is a good QB coach and has helped JC a great deal. As a play caller. SUX. VOTE.

Zorn is not the worst NFL Head Coach right now. SPAGS is. By week 6, Zorn could be, if he makes it. . . tbc

uhh, breaking update. mike sherman hasn't coached the packers since 2005. mike mccarthy is the coach and interesting tied coach gibbs' record for best record in his first 25 games coached.

I think Zorn is a top 6 or 7 worst coach in the league. His coaching style is put together with each step he takes it seems. Its a continuation of the ineptitude that Gibbs 2.0 brought. We all thought big things were gonna happen with Gibbs coming back. There was nothing big about it. Gibbs' offense was outdated, his coaching skills were rusty (two time outs in a row for example) and he didn'thave the personnel to run his OG brand of smash mouth football. he turned CP into something he wasn't at the time.

This is a continuation of the epic fail Gibbs 2.0 installed in this team. Im not blaming Gibbs for what is going on right now, but i think it helps explain the frustration and down right mutiny of the fanbase. We all expected things to change when Gibbs came back... and we are still waiting. Zorn is learning, going through growing pains, making mistakes, and that's great.... for other fan bases.

That plain, cold truth of the matter is that we want results. We are tired of waiting "another year" on the coach, the QB, anyone. No more waiting one more year. Zorn needs to go and we need a Coach like Gruden or Shannahan. Someone with a temper. Someone who wont take the BS these players create. (CP and his media tiffs with Zorn, BMitch, for example, Henson and his fan hatred, etc) Ive seen what Zorn has to offer, and Ill pass on waiting another year to see results. Im ready to start over with a proven (recently) coach and a new regime. This was a horrible mistake from the beginning.

I think Snyder is the reason we had slim slim pickings of coaching options, and he better get his head out of his ass and act like a real owner during his next go round of interviews.

Everytime I think of the coaching candidates sleeping at the guest house... I picture an oil painting hanging above the coach to be's bed, and the eyes slide out and Danny's eyes behind his glasses poke through... then the eyes of the dog in the oil painting slide away and Vinny big bulging bug eyes pop into that spot.

Danny: "Yes, sleep now Dun-gy... for you will coach our team whether you like it or not, and I will own you... my precious."

Vinny: "Yes master, he will do as you say... or I will not give him the personnel he needs to succeed."

Danny: "Good Boy Vincent, now go!"

Vinny: "Yes master!" :::Monkey with wings and Vinny's eyes flies out the window:::

crazy threads after, crazy threads. When the team is down, we learn a lot about the fans.

You know, game film doesn't lie. Zorn made comments on how players didn't execute in the Redzone, Sunday. If you guys would take the time and look at the game again, you would see for yourself. 2 dropped TD's, Portis halfback option didn't fool the defense. Why? Because when Portis got the ball, he was in the position too throw.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3r2Jg0gRy4&feature=related

does it look like Portis sells the run? No! Execution. Now, if it had worked, no issues.
