wysknz1
http://www.skysunlightsaxon.com/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sky_Saxon They say it happens in three's. But this is the 4th. OK most everyone here have probably not heard of Sky. But he falls under my favorite genre of music, psychedelic blues. His band, the Seeds had a couple of minor hits, but his style was influential with more popular, modern bands. Last year he was working with the Smashing Pumpkins. If you've never heard of him do a search, I'm sure you'll find his music quite "interesting". I'm mostly posting this because with all the music topics on this board here's another to look into . Thanks for reading. RIP Sunlight.
JMS
http://www.skysunlightsaxon.com/http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sky_Saxon They say it happens in three's. But this is the 4th. . I think we are actually on our second set of three now.... 1) Edd McMan 2) Farah 3) Micheal 4) Billy Mays that infomercial guy who had a piece of lugage drop on his head. 5) Fred Travalena ( Comedian famous comedian from the 70's / 80's / 90's ) 6) Now Sky Saxon. Skins PR
He was the greatest American hero, the King of Pop, and transformed the way the safety position was played forever. Seriously, as I said in another thread, people are just death mongering now. Who the hell is Sky Saxon?
Oldskool
If I had to google his name, it doesn't count on the list.
Mickalino
If I had to google his name, it doesn't count on the list. none of them should count on the list - this whole "comes in 3's" is lame and old.

Sticksboi05
If I have to search his name, he's not on the level of Jackson or Fawcett or McMahon or Mays but nevertheless, a standard R.I.P. So this month we've lost 6 big celebs... Carradine, McMahon, Fawcett, Jackson, Mays and Gale Storm.
RedlightG20
none of them should count on the list - this whole "comes in 3's" is lame and old. What's funny is that I've never even heard of the "comes in 3's" thing until 4 or 5 people on the list of 6 above died.
Enter Apotheosis
I think we're actually up to 8 ES threads this month about celebrity deaths... David Carradine Ed McMahon Farrah Fawcett Sky Saxon Michael Jackson Gale Storm Billy Mays Fred Travalena Among those, though, I would say that only 5 people on that list are mainstream enough to qualify for the Rule of Three. Zguy28
I lost my Uncle on Father's Day to cancer. He was more of a celebrity to me than any of those folks.

I'd say 6. Fred and Sky don't really qualify. The rest were icons in some way.
Enter Apotheosis
I'd say 6. Fred and Sky don't really qualify. The rest were icons in some way. Gale Storm is borderline. She has largely remained out of the public eye since the 1960's.
Sticksboi05
Gale Storm is borderline. She has largely remained out of the public eye since the 1960's. True. But she was one of the premier stars of 1950's TV and has FOUR stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame so I think she makes it in..but Fred/Sky don't. Bang
Sky Saxon was seriously crazy. As in insane. Really. Not to be unexpected for the guy who I could argue invented punk rock long before anyone ever heard of it. The Seeds were like the infant MC5. Weird week. ~Bang
wysknz1
If you read my original post you'd see Part of what I was trying to accomplish was to introduce some of you "squares" to a new music icon. Just because you've never heard of someone doesn't mean they weren't important to the music world. Broaden your horizons, expand your mind. Open to some new (old) music and see what the psychedelic era was about. MJ sucked. OK not a popular idea on this board, but really, what made him great? Just because a lot of unimaginative people bought up his junk he tried to pass off as music?
Mickalino
What's funny is that I've never even heard of the "comes in 3's" thing until 4 or 5 people on the list of 6 above died. which is why this thing is so damn silly - people only mention it, during the rare times it does happen - they never mention the thousands of times that celeb deaths fail to "come in 3"
