wilco_holland
Sorry if this already is posted: (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedia/photo_gallery/0904/nfl.best.first.round.picks.1-32/content.25.html) At Si.com they have a list of best First-Round Picks, 1999-2008....at pick 25: Jon Beason, One of the game's best young linebackers, Beason led the Panthers in tackles each of his first two seasons and earned All-Pro honors in 2008. Others considered: Jason Campbell (2005) Jason get's considerd as the best 25th overal draft pick between 1999 and 2008, does that say something about Jason or about the 25th pick in the periode 1999-2008? Maby things like this make Dan and Vinny think of not trading up for Sanchez. I hope it.
mnb123
So he is just listed there for no rhyme or reason with no explanation, next to a LB that isn't even from his draft class? ...Typo???
Warhead36
Rankings like these don't really mean much. The 25th player selected is relative to his draft class. Some years the draft is stockpiled with talent and the 25th player taken could have been top 10-15 some other year, and vice versa.
mnb123
the Super Bowl XLIII MVP, was a 25th pick. Not sure if any thought goes into these lists
Enter Apotheosis
next to a LB that isn't even from his draft class? That's the whole point.

Califan007 The Constipated
The competition at #25: Antuan Edwards Chris Hovan Freddie Mitchell (heh heh) Charles Grant William Joseph Ahmad Carroll Jason Campbell Santonio Holmes Jon Beason Mike Jenkins
Travdaskin
Santonio Holmes, Jon Beason are solid picks, and I MEAN SOLIDDDDDDDDDDD, plus both of them are Florida boys...
dsciambi
They've got Adam Archuleta as the runner up at #20. I'm going to have to say this is one of the worst lists I've ever seen. Also no ST at #5, but Quentin Jammer? Really?

I'm going to have to say this is one of the worst lists I've ever seen. Also no ST at #5, but Quentin Jammer? Really? Exactly what I was thinking. Of course I'm ok with LT ranking as the best #5 pick, but ST should be the first honorable mention.
Travdaskin
Jammer is trash, Sean behind him, get the F out...
Zzj
"Plenty of names to debate at No. 3, but Fitzgerald gets the nod for his remarkable first five seasons, including his performance in the 2008 playoffs (30 receptions, 546 yards, seven touchdowns -- all NFL records). Others considered: Chris Samuels (2000)" http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedia/photo_gallery/0904/nfl.best.first.round.picks.1-32/content.3.html
generals01
dang number 11 is pretty stacked with Big Ben, Freeney, D. Ware, and Patrick Willis. Wish the skins had that pick this year
Rudechain
What got me is some of the other honorable mentions were from the 2008 draft class ( Mayo was listed). One season is kind of early don't ya think?
Riggo-toni
Eli the best #1 pick of the last decade... :yikes: He was only the 3rd best QB in that year's draft - goes to show how disappointing the #1 overall picks have been... Tim Couch, David Carr, Alex Smith, etc. Carson Palmer is a much better QB than Eli, but got stuck on the Bungles. Other than Palmer, has there been ANY draft since Peyton where the first QB taken was the best? If only the list went back another couple years, Eli's brother would've been the runaway choice.
