CrypticVillain
OK, I tried to activate over the internet, but it is not working. I would activate over the phone, but I used my brothers XP CD. I don't know what will happen to me and my brother computers. Does anybody have any insight or suggestions on this issue.

Don't quote me on that, but I'm pretty sure it's right.

Mufumonk
You'll likely get an automated response where they will ask you to key in your activation code and extend it for you.

.Guy.
you can't have two computers using the same key. you can use the on cd to install XP on hundreds of computers and it will be all good as long as you have different product keys. I'll sell you a windows vista home basic product key for $40. Its perfectly legit... just upgraded to Ultimate. XP is old and ugly now... time to move on to a fast, stable OS. So your computer has a sticker on it, with the product key for the Windows XP that you paid for. (The sticker may be on the back, or inside a door of some kind.) Technically not correct. You're not allowed to have two machines running off the same XP key, but it does work. After being hassled by consumers who had to do fresh installs on replaced parts and things of that nature, Microsoft scaled back their installation restrictions. 120 days after you install Windows using a given key, that key can be used again. That doesn't mean it's legal to put it on more than one machine, it just means it's physically possible without getting hassled by Microsoft. Toe Jam
So I want to use this new Windows 7 Beta but it's only available by torrent. Now.. I've used torrents for movies and stuff... but I don't have any idea how stable using a torrent for an OS would be. Or how to go about finding a keygen to install it. G-Prime
To the OP.. just call the number, and tell them your taking it off one machine and putting it on another.. They won't even ask you any questions.
