childish beef? Pac thought that BIG had him set up and shot. thats not very childish to me. you know that BIG and Fluffy were upstairs when he was shot, right? and Pac believes "who shot ya" is about him. thats not childish if you think a man tried to have you killed off. and battle raps are as old as rap itself. ask MC Shan and KRS-One about that..

The east coast never really fell off, they just werent putting out the same quality as the west coast at the time. and then in the later 90s the south came and took over. everyone is still there but everyone now gets a piece of the spotlight and NOT just NYC.

Ok but you eventually gotta realize the man didn't set you up. He kept going and going while B.I.G. just went about his business.

Who Shot Ya was recorded before he was shot just released at a bad time as B.I.G. said.

Edit - Why is the poll no longer public so we don't have cheating?

Em finds a way to do that to just about anybody.

Jay-Z learned the hard way.:silly:

Well,lets see.

Relax and take notes, while i take tokes of the marijuana smoke

Throw you in a choke - gun smoke, gun smoke

Biggie smalls for mayor, the rap slayer

The hooker layer - mother****er say your prayers

Hail mary full of grace.. smack the ***** in the face;

Take her gucci bag and the north face

Off her back, jab her if she act

Funny with the money oh you got me mistaken honey

I don't wanna rape ya, i just want the paper

The visa, kapeesha? i'm out like, "the vapors"

Who's the one you call mr. macho, the head honcho

Swift fist like camacho, i got so

Much style i should be down wit the stylistics

Make up to break up {*singing in background*} niggaz need to wake up

Smell the indonesia; beat you to a seizure

Then **** your moms, hit the skins til amnesia

She don't remember ****! just the two hits!

Her hittin the floor, and me hittin the clits!

Suckin on the tits! had the hooker beggin for the dick

And your moms ain't ugly love; my dick got rock quick

I guess i was a combination of house of pain and bobby brown

I was "humpin around" and "jump-in around"

Jacked her then i asked her who's the man; she said, "b-i-g"

Then i bust in her e-y-e (yo big, you're dead wrong)

[notorious b.i.g.]

When i get dusted, i like to spread the blood like mustard

Trust it, my hardcore rain leaves you rusted

Move over lucifer, i'm more ruthless, huh

Leave your toothless, you'll kibbitz, i'll flip it

Tears don't affect me, i hit 'em with the tech g

Disrespect me - my potency is deadly

I'm shootin babies, no ifs ands or maybes

Hit mummy in the tummy if the hooker plays a dummy

Slit the wrist of little sis

After she sucked the dick, i stabbed her brother with the icepick

Because he wanted me to **** him from the back

But smalls don't get down like that

Got your father hidin in a room; ****ed him with the broom

Slit him down the back and threw salt in the wound

Who you think you're dealin with?

Anybody step into my path is ****in feelin it!

Hardcore, i got it sucked like a *****

Stab ya til you're gushy, so please don't push.. me

I'm using rubbers so they won't trace the semen

The black demon, got the little hookers screamin

Because you know i love it young, fresh and green

With no hair in between, know what i mean?

(Em)

There's several different levels to devil worshippin: horse's heads,

Human sacrifices, canibalism; candles and exorcism

Animals havin sex with 'em; camels mammals and rabbits

But i don't get into that, i kick the habit - i just,

Beat you to death with weapons that eat through the flesh

And i never eat you unless the ****in, meat looks fresh

I got a lion in my pocket, i'm lyin, i got a nine in my pocket

And baby i'm just, dyin to **** him

He's ready for war, i'm ready for war

I got machetes and swords for any faggot that said he was raw

My uz' as, heavy as yours, yeah you met me before

I just didn't have as large an arsenal of weapons before

Marshall will step in the door, i lay your head on the floor

With your body spread on the bedspread, red on the wall

Red on the ceilin, red on the floor, get a new whore

Met on the second, wet on the third;

Then she's dead on the fourth - i'm dead wrong

I don't think so.Biggie ruled that song and that's my favorite of him but Em killed it and Biggie pwn3d it.

well, youre right about one thing...youre gonna get flamed for this!! hahaa

he was a punk? i get that he did talk a lot of **** but name ONE time that Pac didnt back up the **** he talked. Pac said **** that people wouldnt say but thought. He knew that NY was trying to hold back rappers because they were the "mecca" of rap. he went after police, media, rappers, etc. he held no punches.

he was respected as SOON as Tupacalypse came out and he broke out with "trapped". heck we was the tightest on "same song" with DU. the man could rap and he may not have paved the way for rappers but he did real well for himself as well as the west coast.

and BIG didnt put Jay Z on, Jay knew that BIG was blowing up and used to ride his coattails at shows so he could put himself on. Jay tried to make his own way but was more known for "Hawaiian Silky" then anything else at the time. He stepped in and tried to take over where Biggie left off when BIG died.

I will give you one thing you definately know your hip-hop.

For one it is not hard to be the nicest on a DU song. While I enjoy DU they did have a rapper wearing a fake nose pretending to be another member of the group. Please real tough company.

I didnt mean to say Big put Jay-Z on. He didnt. To be honest neither really put anyone of note on. Plus you know you loved Hawaiian Sophie.

Tupac was a punk. He shot at cops was charged with sexual assault and talked to much trash that he got himself shot and killed. Plain and simple. To me that equals a punk.

The whole New York trying to hold back rappers thing is in my opinion way overblown and stupid. New York is the Mecca of rap and BIG put it back where it should be. On top. The West Coast has 5 good rappers tops. They want to ***** about being disrespected and this that and the other but you take away Ice Cube, Snoop, hell I cant even name 5 good WC rappers. Dre doesnt make it because he doesnt write it.

I always thought Who Shot Ya was about Tupac. I still do. I know puff SAYS it was recorded before he was shot, but is there actually any evidence to back that up?

I voted Tupac. Just cause I like his rap better. Been listening to rap since I was 10, in the mid 80's my step brother from San Jose came to live w/ us. My first taste of NWA and I was hooked. My all time fav rapper- Eazy Mutha****in E baby!

Here is a scenario...here we go yo..here we go yo..sorry lol

lets say you get shot and you are sure I did it. you have heard things that I did it. but i tell you i didnt do it. do you just beleive me cuz i said it? or does it seem suspicious that im not helping you figure out who did it? does it seem odd to you that i have now distanced myself from you instead of coming to your side and providing you protection? we all know that BIG was caught up with the supreme team; why didnt he have them protect Pac? West coast rappers frequently used crip gangs as security for east coast rappers.

I will give you one thing you definately know your hip-hop.

umm...you are kidding me, right?

just 5 good rappers?

ice cube

WC

E-40

Spice 1

DJ Quik

and thats JUST off the top of my head. New York was a gimmic for a long ass time and they slipped and continued to slip all the way thru the 90s. they had a few flashes (big, Wu) but they were more concerned with image (ski goggles on the head, pant leg rolled up) instead of worrying about what got them to the top. and that was dope ass lyrics like KRS, Chuck D and Rakim put out there. The south didnt give it back to the East until at least 00.

I thought Jay Z was horrible and more like the fushnickin style of rapping then anyone who had anything worth a damn to say. it wasnt until reasonable doubt came out that I started to even pay any attention to that dude. he was more of a side thought then a real rapper.

DU may have been a party group but dont sleep on the lyrics of some of their tighter stuff. you have to get deeper then humpty and grabbin biscuits but money B and shock G made a dope ass CD with sex packets.

in terms of flow, there are few rappers i would put ahead of Big

I wouldn't put anyone in front of him. Personally I don't think anyone can match him on that level. I think on pure skill I'd go with Biggie but if we're talking about taking it to another level as far as making you think and writing with pure emotion then I'd put Pac there.

They're both phenomenal. They're both top 5 artists forever.

[Notorious B.I.G.]

One two, one two, gonna do it like this

WHERE BROOKLYN AT, WHERE BROOKLYN AT

WHERE BROOKLYN AT, WHERE BROOKLYN AT

We gonna do it like this

Anytime you're ready, check it

I got seven Mack 11's, about eight 38's

Nine 9's, ten mack tens, the ****s never ends

You can't touch my riches

Even if you had MC Hammer and them 357 ****es

Biggie Smalls; the millionare, the mansion, the yacht

The two weed spots, the two hot glocks

That's how I got the weed spot

I shot dread in the head, took the bread and the lamb spread

Little Gotti got the shotty to your body

So don't resist, or you might miss Christmas

I tote guns, I make number runs

I give mc's the runs drippin

when I throw my clip in the AK, I slay from far away

Everybody hit the D-E-C-K

My slow flow's remarkable, peace to Matteo

Now we smoke weed like Tony Montana sniffed the llello

That's crazy blunts, mad L's

My voice excels from the avenue to jail cells

Oh my God, I'm droppin **** like a pigeon

I hope you're listenin, smackin babies at they christening

[Tupac] Mother****in Biggie Smalls!

[Kane] What you gonna do with it Tupac?

[Tupac]

Yeah where the mother****in thugs at?

Throw your mother****in middle finger

We gonna do this **** like this

I thank the Lord for my many blessings, never stressin

Keep a vest for protection, from the barrel of a Smith & Wesson

And all my niggaz in the pen, here we go again

Ain't nuttin separatin us from a mack-10

Born in the ghetto as a hustler, told ya

A straight soldier, buckin at the bustaz

No matter how you try, niggaz never die

We just retaliate with hate, then we multiply

You see me strikin down the block, hittin corners

Mobbin like a mother****er, livin like I - wanna

And ain't no stoppin at the red lights, I'm sideways

Thug Life mother****er crime, pays!

Let the cops put they lights on, chase me "n-word"

Zig zaggin through the freeway, race me "n-word"

In a high speed chase with the law

The realest mother****er that you ever saw

Biggie has the best flow of any rapper, ever, period. Pac is one of the most introspective and intellectual hip hop artists ever.

I'll give the edge to Biggie for being fat.

Pretty much agree here. Pac could get deeper and more intellectual when he wanted to but Biggie just know how to rhyme and lay down a flow like none other. Also, there's a ****ing ton of pure crap that Pac put out. I know it's hard to compare because he had so many more songs but I like selective Pac singles whereas Ready to Die and Life After Death are the **** from beginning to end. Biggie was just so smooth in his delivery and clever in his rhymes.
