d0ublestr0ker0ll
Fight Club is the kind of movie you need to watch from start to finish. Its not a mindless testosteronefest like The 300 or movies like that, its really just a really good movie. Until I saw it I didn't think I was missing anything, but when I actually watched the whole thing, I understood why it was so highly regarded. My brother also had the same reluctance to watch it but when he did he was glad he saw it. I've put it down as the next movie I want to watch. I've always had a problem with fighting movies, because I practice martial arts and have become a critic for fight scenes. Rocky II would be my favorite movie of all time if it weren't for the ridiculous boxing match. But I'll give Fight Club a look-see very soon. d0ublestr0ker0ll
Shawshank is #1 on my all time list followed by the Matrix. ...then again, The Princess Bride comes in at #3 so you're probably right. Princess Bride is better than the Matrix and Shawshank, in my opinon. Shawshank is carried by Morgan Freeman. Matrix is carried by Lawrence Fishburn. Princess Bride is carried by everyone, even Andre the freakin' Giant.
mardi gras skin
Princess Bride is better than the Matrix and Shawshank, in my opinon. Shawshank is carried by Morgan Freeman. Matrix is carried by Lawrence Fishburn. Princess Bride is carried by everyone, even Andre the freakin' Giant. One thing all three movies have in common is that they caught me by surprise. I was absolutely dumbfounded by the Matrix. From "your men are already dead" to last telephone booth scene, I was unprepared. When they stopped the fight and spun the camera around the room? That was the most amazing special effect I had ever seen. The Matrix changed my expectations for that type of movie.
rdsknbill
Goodfellas needs to be in the Top 10, no questions asked. I know it is sitting right at #11 but still... I'd put it in my top 3 THANK YOU! While the rest of you are arguing about the Princess Bride? Really? The list is for "guy" movies, not weak ass movies with washed up wrestlers in it. Besides. That movie is from '87
GibbsFactor
please return your man card. you have missed a movie that has a 30+ minute long shootout in a hospitality. the violence never ends... nor does it get boring. Yeah, I've heard of it after reading the link but never have seen it. I honestly think it's the only movie on the list I haven't seen. Good thing for Netflix! Please tell me Goodfellas made the list. If not it fails. Wild Things is #50, Reservoir Dogs #13, Goodfellas #11. -
edgun88
Pulp Fiction should be #1. No questions asked. Three words. Sam. Freaking. Jackson.

Midnight Judges
I hated the matrix. I thought the premise was actually pretty cool but freakin Keanu Reeves is the absolute worst actor ever. And special effects are no substitute for good writing. Fight club was OK. Had a nice twist. I don't get the cult following.

That movie is from '87:doh: Hey jackass, I was the first one to point out that Goodfellas should be in the top 10. Dude was talking about his 3 favorite movies, one being Princess Bride, so we started talking about it. If it went away from the stringent rules of this thread, I'm sorry, wannabe mod. I'm also sorry you think Princess Bride is "weak ass". Obviously Joe Pesci shooting a kid and stabbing a fat guy behind his back are more badass than Inigo Montoya coming back from being stabbed three times to make a guy beg for his life. Obviously, there are other things that make Goodfellas an all-around badass-a-thon, and yes, Princess Bride was made in the 80's, but it's definitely not weak ass. Grow a pair so you can enjoy something that doesn't have to constantly remind you that you're a man. http://www.badassoftheweek.com/montoya.html
ArmchairRedskin
Menace II Society is a glaring ommision on that list for me. What about Juice? Tupac was a pretty awesome villian in that. BTW, Out of Sight is highly underrated. If you haven't seen it, you should try to.

Mickalino
The Crow. That's the name of the movie - I can't help it if it makes the message too short !
BigMike619
The Crow. That's the name of the movie - I can't help it if it makes the message too short ! I walked 5 miles in the rain on the big island of Hawaii to watch that movie in the theater the weekend it came out. Granted it was 85 degrees and humid but still.
