It fits the song. Here's a good example of good song (well classic metal anyway), corny video. Starts out with some movie footage. Fine. Goofy concert footage. That's all good. You're walking around a wharf! Chances you're going to get splashed with water. Plastic jackets are not only extremely stylish but completely water proof. 3)Compared to what the rest of the band is wearing, it's extremely tough looking. In fact, I think that's a pack of VA Slims rolled up in the sleeve. 4)Dude, you're playing air keyboard with your middle aged friends on video that's going to be seen by millions. Wouldn't you take that seriously? 5)When you've got a stud like Steve Perry in the band (especially puttin on the gun show like he is in this video), you've got to make a move for the ladies whenever you can.
