HogNose
Mine is "stairway to heaven", but there's been a lot of all time classics named in this thread. I'll add Black Dog by Zeppelin to the list.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9i2fqxSjTI

Dan T.
Hard question and there are so many great rock songs. I'll throw out: Baba O'Riley - The Who Seeing it live in '89 was one of the most cathartic experiences I've had. I was going to say "Won't Get Fooled Again" but Baba O'Riley might be it. To think that both came off of one great great album. Won't Get Fooled Again has the greatest rock scream ever! YEEEAHHHHHH!!!!

d0ublestr0ker0ll
The Beatles - I Want You (She's So Heavy) Not the most stellar lyrics, lol. But the different riffs in the song are huge signs of the sounds we'd start hear in rock and metal. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dROLfId-Zsg

d0ublestr0ker0ll
Black Dog is sick. So is Rock And Roll. When it comes to Zep 4, Stairway, Black Dog, Rock and Roll, When the Levee Breaks...I don't like any of them better than "Misty Mountain Hop". "Four Sticks" is in a close second. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hy0MLU5asxs
TorresA
wow. :doh:The thread is best ROCK song of all time. Not metal. Disturbed is cool but I wouldn't consider them rock. Rock is VERY VERY broad. Rock encompasses almost everything.Metal is a form of Rock http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_music in the 1970s, rock developed a number of subgenres, such as soft rock, glam rock, heavy metal, hard rock, progressive rock, and punk rock.
