Geoff_K
I dropped my son off at the local HS football game (he is a freshman and chose not to play football this year). As I circled out of the parking lot I noticed a group of adults with tables and such set up to tailgate and all i could think was, LOL ... I called a couple friends to see what they thought and while they all agreed I am crazy, they thought the others were crazier. Do you tailgate at high school football games ? The Brave Little Toaster Oven
Well, around here, HS football isnt that big a deal. We have 1 or 2 good teams that usually gets players scouted by UMD. I'm guessing it is a bigger deal in Indiana. Schools in Texas are that way too. daddys little skins fan
My friends and I, junior and senior year, used to tailgate at our high school football games... at least the big rivalry ones. We were not joined by adults, however. lol. We'd all hangout though and eat. All the more red-neck guys brought the deer they hunted and cooked venison burgers. haha. It was a good time. We would tailgate for State Championships too, up at Raven's Stadium... two year in a row. I'm even pretty sure that when I was really young, Mark the Homer took me to my (future) highschool's State Championship game up at UMD and we tailgated there. Really... any excuse to tailgate... I'll take it. Call me crazy, I can take it.

Nothing stronger than hot chocolate though.
dfitzo53
Indiana loves their high school sports, or at least historically has. Especially basketball. Football's not as big, but it's still big in places. My grandfather used to follow high school basketball for the whole state through the newspapers. He knew all the top players by name just like it was a college league.

RonJeremy
I have been to a lot of High Schools game lately, and haven't noticed any tailgating going on? I find that a little strange unless it is a Championship game being played at a College or Professional stadium.
Mass_SkinsFan
Actually we had a high school her in Massachusetts (Lincoln-Sudbury High) where due to alcohol consumption by minors at the game last weekend (9/12) ALL STUDENTS were required to have a parent with them in order to attend this weekend's game (9/19). So I guess that at least in that area they tailgate to some degree or another.
VASkins540
We had some tailgating at my HS every week, never saw any adults participating though.
Spaceman Spiff
Whats even more lame is seeing older people playing beer pong at those tailgates.
Popeman38
They tailgate at Stone Bridge. I lived right next to the field for a year, and they had some SERIOUS HS tailgates going. Deepfryers, smokers, out there EARLY for HS. It was cool.
Major Harris
they have a tailgate at every home game here. some volunteers cooking up hot dogs, nacho cheese, etc. i'm pretty sure almost every person in allegheny co., md tailgates all friday if fort hill or allegheny is playing at home. redskins4life234
Was that when Watkins Mill beat the snot out of Sherwood? No, Watkins Mill has nothing on Sherwood, never. 2005 - Damascus beat the snot 2006 - Suitland won a bs td call (while on a comeback), and a terrible 2 point conversion call by coach Thomas. 2007 - Didn't make it to states 2008- Maryland 4A State Champs (Calling it)
Kosher Ham
I think tailgating is a right of passage, that does not occur at a HS game.
