What veteran Redskins do you think fails to make the squad?

We've had plenty of "who's on the bubble" and who's making the team threads, so the question I'm posing to you is who doesn't make the team.

and I'm not talking UDFA or guys who got signed in the offseason or guys that come close every year and just miss the cut (or get signed we when we need a roster spot to fill b/c of injury).

I'm talking guys who've been here or on the practice squad a whole season.

So who do you think right now with two preseason games left doesn't make the team?

I've got a few names but I'll let you other posters come up with some names first.

Derrick Frost and Todd Wade are the most obvious candidates. It's a shame Wade can't stay healthy...

I hate to say it but I think Chris Wilson gets cut this time around in favor of Rob Jackson and Erasmus James. I like Wilson, but there really isn't much need for a 3rd down specialist that is too small to play the run now that you have Jason Taylor.

I also have a gut feeling that Leigh Torrence and Vernon Fox get caught in a numbers game on the final cut as I can't see the team keeping 9 DBs on the active roster or trying to stash any of the rookies on the PS.

Mix and McMullen are probably gone as well in favor of keeping Mason as the 4th RB instead of 6 WRs.

Unfortunately, I agree, Buddha. I really hope Wilson catches on somewhere (outside the division) and makes a nice career for himself. I've been high on the kid since the first preseason game last year, and was really hoping he'd establish himself here.

But you're right. There's just too much talent on this team up front for him to stick, IMO, being a pass rush specialist. I guess it's a nice problem to have, but I'll be sorry to see Wilson go if that's what happens.

It's a shame he couldn't slide back and play some OLB. That's where the depth need is.

Agreed.

I just think he's too tall, and not quick enough to do so.

I would like to have seen him put on about 20-25 pounds in the offseason, in hopes of becoming a better run stopper. I think he's got the kind of frame that could afford to gain some weight, without losing much in the way of speed.

Like I said though, I hope he finds a good NFL home. He should.

Chris Wilson. While he was somewhat dynamic with 4 sacks last year, he has been injured, sack artists are not as big a need with Taylor starting and James waiting in the wings, and I cannot justify giving him a roster spot over Rob Jackson, who is a lot younger, and in my opinion, has the potential to be a much more complete DE, ala Daniels.

Todd Wade. He has shown nothing in the past few games, and frankly, hasn't impressed me since 2006. With the sudden rush of young talent on O-line, I have no reason to sit here and say he should be on the roster this year.

Fox' date=' Wade, Frost, and Sellers? What's his role in the WCO? FB?[/quote']

Sure.

The WCO employs multiple sets and formations, as I'm sure you know, and Zorn has already shown a propensity to lead block with big #45 inside the 20s.

IMO, Big Mike is safe.
