The Cult of Colt (Merged)

I for one welcome our Hawaiian friends.

What's wrong with all the fans from Hawaii pulling hard for Colt? The more good QB's on our roster the better and the more fans rooting for our redskins the better.

I welcome new fans too. I think most of our problem is new fans in adulthood that jumped on because of one guy. Adult fans that haven't had to deal with ****-bag cowboy fans for years, never had an urge to punch a Philly fan, hadn't had to pull their hair out from Joe Gibbs' 2nd half conservative mode in a 16-14 games, not know what it's like to have been a veteran of Steve Spurrier's cluelesss gameplan, nutless Norv, angered every year as we watched Art Monk getting screwed by the HOF committee.

It just doesn't seem like a fanhood with substance and am afraid most will bail if CB moves on although it seems like a few people will be here to stay. I just remember this mad dash of new fans from Florida with the hire of Spurrier and and then the bayou bunch that rolled in(and out) with Patrick Ramsey.

Sorry islanders. As a longsuffering Redskin fan I'm a skeptic of the new wave of fans. Less skeptical of CB's ability though. Nothing would make me happier than to have Colt grow into the position and create a sticky situation at QB. Believe me, I'm not sold on Campbell just yet either. He still has some to prove too.

Agree 100%. I have only been on this board for two years but I've followed my Skins me entire life. Lived and died through many, many seasons, and I hope many more to come. I will never abandon my B&G, ever ever. I wasn't here (or at least not posting actively) when the Fla and La bandwagons came and went but I can see something similar happening w/Colt.

If I can throw my two cents into the ring, attn: HI newbs - posts about Washington Warriors, not knowing HTTR, and generally not being interested in the proud history of this franchise will get you NOWHERE. You came to the Skins with Colt, fine. But now that you're HERE, prove your fanhood as the commercials say, and LEARN this stuff.

It should be obvious to you guys that it's important to US...

A Foghorn Leghorn moment:

"Hawaii....wave. That's a joke, son, don't you get it?! Surfs up, boy. Pay attention. I don't see no hula-hula girls. Fortunately, I keep my quarterbacks numbered, for just such emergencies."

Colt Cult is right.

Cult crap!!! Only cult here are the few who continue bashing those that are excited for CB. Isn't he a member of the Washington Redskins? Where is it written that non-starters can only have a set number of posts.

He's doing well and we're excited. Isn't it good for the team as a whole?

You'll only have to put up with him for a couple more weeks. He'll be on the sidelines during games, we understand that too.

Quick, Hr. What are the words to HTTR (hint: it's not HHTR)?

What are the #'s of the Redskins SB victories?

Who are the current members of the B&G in the HOF?

...

Get my point?

Maybe you should use this opportunity to educate our new fans instead of belittle them? I lived in Maui for a year and found the natives and haolies alike to be a friendly bunch, and I NEVER met a Dallas fan there. Not one, but there are plenty around here.

Brother, I've been to HI many times in my life. You're blessed to have lived there for a year, Maui is a beautiful place -

But don't mistake my intention here. My POINT was that our newfound Hawaiian friends seem to be more enamored of Colt than they are of the Burgundy and Gold. That won't do.

This IS ExtremeSkins, after all. NOT ExtremeColt, ExtremeUofH, or anything else. I merely asked if one of our new diehards could answer a few questions about his or her beloved franchise.

Nothing more.

Nothing less.

Sorry, in my haste I mis-typed. I did mean....HTTR.

HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!

It's cool Hr. I actually did a similar thing (gasp) many years ago on a similar website. I typed one of my posts and put in HTTP by mistake. I am just now beginning to live it down. I didn't mean to harsh you unnecessarily. See the post above this one for my meaning, willya?

Thanks.

It's all cool Daddy. We seem more enamored of Colt only because we are more familiar with him. We cheered, lived, and died with him.

Give us time, we're still new, we'll get into the whole team soon. I really like JC and Cooley.

Here's a little info that I'm proud of. I know Kurt Gouveia's family. We cheered my arse off when he made that interception in the Super Bowl win. Sorry, don't recall what year it was.

I also got to see Art Monk everyday he was here for all those Pro Bowls. Quiet, humble, and classy gentlemen.

Cheers.

Your point is silly. So new Hawaii fans have to swear an oath of allegiance to the Redskins? Why else would fans in Hawaii be rooting for a team 5000 miles away other than Colt Brennan? If Brennan is traded away in a few years to start for another team do you think they're going to care about the Redskins and their rich history?

I like Coach Zorn which is reason #2 for me to root for this team regardless of where Colt ends up.

My wife wants to hit Maui when we go back in a few years. We saw Oahu and Kauai when we went in 2005. I personally want to see the big island for a couple days and then head back to Kauai for the rest of the trip. Kauai is the closest thing to heaven I've ever seen. Been all over the Carribean and the Pacific side of Mexico and nothing compares to Kauai. Loved the non commercialism and quiet, uncrowded beaches.

I'll be retiring from my job in 12 years and when I do my wife wants to do travel nursing. Our first move(if possible) will be Hawaii. Man I can't wait. Getting up at 7am to see the Skins is going to be a tall order.

I think his point is that being a Skins fan is something Skins fans take seriously. We don't have tolerance for bandwagoners like Cowboys fans do who have the "we welcome all bandwagoners" attitude. It's just something natural for us to defend the fanbase and all who are loyal. We aren't like most fanbases. We have a reputation with all other fanbases as being the biggest homers in the NFL.

We bleed B&G. When we lose we have a bad week. Believe me I listen to sports talk radio, but when the Skins lose I avoid sports talk at all cost. I don't want to hear about it. It takes until Wednesday for me to finally lighten up my mood after a loss and I'm on cloud nine for the full week after a win. I certainly hope we've picked up some new diehards. It's just admitting "I'm gone if Colt gets his walking papers" doesn't set well with a homer, diehard fanbase whose autumns evolve around this team and who had one of the most popular players of the last 20 years get murdered just 9 months ago.

On NFL network they were just listing all the rookie QB's this year and never mentioned Colt. They talked about Joe Flaco heavily, and even mentioned other non-starters from the Fins and NE.

But no Colt, Colt are you hearing this. God forbid if Campbell gets hurt, but with Colt in the wings and Collins on board it is a much easier pill to swallow if need be.

Hey Hawaii. Don't take anything on this forum personally. Extreme Skins is filled with Redskins cultist. We are made up of haters, lovers, and all those in between. It is sport around here to make fun of newcomers who don't have longtime Redskin credentials. You are entitled to say anything on here but be ready for abuse when you sound too happy. Cheer the team and your favorite players on and have fun talking and reading about them here. But when you post, expect any kind of reaction from the Redskin cultists. I admit it, I am one. :)

Colt is saying the right things up front and going the humble route but don't tell me this guy doesn't have a huge chip on his shoulder. He knows what he's capable of. 31 other general managers will too.

I agree it is just amazing to me that they skipped over him entirely. He set records, no matter the schools schedule or opponents. He is worthy of mentioning. But what you'll find is that the Skins get skipped over alot by the media who are too busy humping the Cowboys. Good, they really have a horrendous track record picking champions or performers.

It would not be surprising at all to see Colt starting this year. Sadly guys get hurt or knicked. And I think Zorn is not going to be afraid to start a rookie like Gibbs would be.

Alright you all can let your Colt man-crush or woman-crush flow here after the game. Talk about the good and the bad until your heart-content. :silly:

Hopefully with this thread we won't see 100+ Colt threads and won't upset the people who are not so hot and heavy on Colt. :D

GO SKINS!!!!!!! and Colt..hang in there kid...it is ok to have a bad game or two.

HTTR!!!!:point2sky :helmet: :logo: :billsuck: :billsuck: :billsuck:
