WVUforREDSKINS
Per CNN cable news. Obama is gonna dangle that in front of her face in order to get her to bow out and let him focus on the GOP. This also gets a lot of femminist and other Hilary supporters for him if he promises a seat on the court. And you can count on Hilary telling her supporters to get behind him .:munchout:

techboy
There's an op-ed in the Post today about why it would be a good idea. Could someone be floating some trial balloons?
Smoot Point Really
She won't want a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court when she can have a lifetime appointment to the Senate. Have you seen Supreme Court justices in the "limelight?" The Senate gets attention, the Supreme Court gets pretty much forgotten.
techboy
I also think it would be a bad idea for Obama because if you want to energize a base which is disenchanted with McCain, you just go ahead and remind them that Supreme Court appointments (for life, far longer than just the next four years that a President will have influence) are likely at stake. WVUforREDSKINS
What they said....you just made McCain awful attractive. Well, this would never be made public, but it would be speculation, and if she got the support of her people behind him then the dems win easily. Its a smart move IMO. That is, of course, if she wants the seat. This election is the dems to lose. They should win the White House and the Congress.

Oh ,I agree they should win , but I wouldn't bet on it. A funny comment I stole...Is this true? Because everyone knows that an attorney who failed the DC bar and was fired from her first lawyer job for conspiring to deny a sitting President his Constitutional rights would make a GREAT Supreme Court Justice. Added As far as a deal?...keeping it on the down low would be wise since it is a crime. http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/18/usc_sec_18_00000599----000-.html

ECU-ALUM
Let's see she was in the Executive Branch as her vast "experience" details....she is a Senator...and now a chance to be Supreme Court Nominee....hey she is going for the Triple Crown! I have a hard time believing she would get confirmed....there are some Senators who would just love to get her under oath.
mjah
I saw that article this morning, and started laughing. Most of America seems to find Hillary untrustworthy. Not such a great idea to put her on the Supreme Court. Especially when Voltron is still available. Obama has demonstrated himself to be pretty smart. I really don't think he'd be interested in saddling himself with Hillary in an even more permanent way than as his VP.
Thiebear
I'd vote for McCain if this is an option. without pause. Lifetime movie network on the bench.. no thank you.
MDRedskinsFan
If this is true, then Obama is robbing the American people blind with his rhetoric of change. This would be change, but it would be change for the worse, because it sets a bad example. What happened to change from the old politics? I guess if you say it enough, they'll believe it. I really don't think he'd be interested in saddling himself with Hillary in an even more permanent way than as his VP. I think part of this is that Hillary is trying to wiggle her way into a deal with Obama so she can back out. Guess what? Obama beat her fair and square, and doesn't owe her anything. I think this whole saga says plenty about both Obama and Clinton. Plus, even as first lady, Clinton liked to be actually involved with policy issues, even when it wasn't her place. The Supreme Court is not the place for her, as I don't want a Supreme Court that is involved in legislating. We have checks and balances, let's preserve them. The Sisko
A funny comment I stole...Is this true? Because everyone knows that an attorney who failed the DC bar and was fired from her first lawyer job for conspiring to deny a sitting President his Constitutional rights would make a GREAT Supreme Court Justice. I was going to point out that she's not even close to being qualified but the above, if true would confirm that. **Edit** I found an article that confirms the statement above. Pretty heavy stuff...even for a Clinton.

Pretty heavy stuff...even for a Clinton. I guess that's why Bill and her moved to Arkansas. Almost anybody could probably pass the bar in Arkansas and practice law in that backwards-ass state. Hmmm....this makes me wonder if the Clinton's "intelligence" is just a myth created by the media...
