rudi johnson is not far superior to portis

Rudi Johnson is far superior to Clinton Portis. Look at the numbers:

Portis 2004: 343 carries, 1,315 yards, 3.8 ypc, 5 TDs

Johnson 2004: 361 carries, 1,454 yards, 4.0 ypc, 12 TDs

Portis 2005: 352 carries, 1,516 yards, 4.3 ypc, 11 TDs

Johnson 2005: 337 carries 1,458 yards, 4.3 ypc 12 TDs

Portis 2006: 127 carries, 523 yards, 4.1 ypc 7 TDs

Johnson 2006: 341 carres, 1,309 yards, 3.8 ypc 12 TDs

So, during Portis' tenure here in Washington, here is how they stack up:

Johnson: 1,039 carries 4,221 yards, 4.06 ypc, 36 TDs

Portis: 822 carries, 3,354 yards, 4.08 ypc, 23 TDs

So Johnson has 13 more TDs over the same time period Portis has been a Redskin.

Johnson has almost 900 more yards over the same time period Portis has been a Redskin.

Johnson has been more durable than Portis has over the same time period.

They are almost identical in their ypc.

Johnson hasn't also been a head case.

No way does a team trade for a broken down, lost-a-step, headcase like Portis when they have Rudi Johnson.

I hope this is a joke! And KW is not a yong guy we had him here durring one of the Spurrier years.:doh:you must be thinking of Kenny Irons.

Yeah, I got the Kenny's confused. I knew they just drafted one.

I love Portis and do not want to lose him...but to be honest, over the past two seasons...he hasnt done very much. In 05 he was a beast and carried this team on his back to the playoffs.

Last year...nothing...

this year...yet to reach 100 yards...nothing.

This offense needs explosive players and while I think Portis can be one of those guys, he hasnt done it in two years.

Do i think we should trade him and draft Slaton...no...but I do think we need to add some additional talent, especially at the wr position.

our number one priority this offseason will be to upgrade the offense. Last season, we chose defense, for obvious reasons, and it worked out very well. Fletcher, Landry, Smoot, Blades...all huge additions.

If we can get a few young guys on oline and a couple vets like this for our offense next year our o will be bad ass and Portis will be a lot more successful because of it.

That being said, he still hasnt looked the same...not like he ran in 05.

Why on earth would the Bengals want Portis?

They have Rudi Johnson who is a far superior running back to Portis.

Additionally, they have a young guy in Kenny Watson who looked very good this weekend.

They have no need for Portis.

Have you even seen Rudi Johnson run this year?

And how is Kenny Watson young when he's several year older than Portis.

you can't claim a player is better than another by putting their stats on a football forum.

Portis and Johnson play for two different teams w/ totaly different systems.

Portis is more talented, not taking anything away from Johnson....he is a very solid running back

btw....I noticed you didn't include Portis' Denver numbers?

Something everyone has over looked thus far:

If all the rumors are true, and the Bengals are trying to part ways w/ Ocho Cinco, they aren't going to get too much for him.

As stated earlier, he is not that young, and he has a very "unique" personality (I like chad, that's why I used unique, if I didn't like him, I'd probably call him a headcase)

Remember this off season when when the Raiders parted ways w/ Randy Moss for a 4th round pick!!!!!!

If I'm the Skins, depending on what it would do to us salary cap wise....I'd trade B. Lloyd and a 4th rounder at the most (I don't even think we have our 4th rounder for next year anyway)

This trade would be great in Madden though. I've got Marcus Mason returning kicks for me this year in madden....next year he will be the #2 RB!
