I, like a few others, would like to know who is the odd man out from this signing? We didn't put Randy on IR did we?

apparently we aren't officially signing him until tomorrow and then we will release a player...it looks like Randy Thomas will not be IRed

Well, last year he got Overpaid Player of the Week with the Lions.

I have 2 problems with the writer of that article:

1) He works for AOL sports

the team a player comes from is often not a good indicator of what he can contribute on another club in another system.

the 1991 Super Bowl team found veterans like Jason Buck and Eric Williams on the DL and they both came from teams that didn't have a reputation for outstanding defensive talent.

yet both contributed to a victory for us against the Bills.

Fabini and/or another of the vets we have in backup roles whether DeMulling or Randall Godfrey, etc. may very well step up and be that player 'x' for us in 2007.

Kind of lukewarm praise, considering it is coach speak and Dungy didn't even badmouth Vanderjerk on his way out the door. I hope it works out for the Skins.

one must take into account the texans cut todd wade loose and they had a HORRIBLE O-line at that time.

that's what i'm wondering? The Jets just didn't want to give him more money which he felt he was promised, so he made a big deal about it and they eventually had a falling out of epic proportions and he was dealt to us.

wade wasnt a reject as much as he was injured. i remember watching some texans games (dunno why i was a huge fan of the texans a while back - second only to the skins) and remember todd wade did a good job holding down the line.

i think if the texans kept T.Wade and built up their O-line, they wouldnt have HALF the problems they would have now.

DeMulling has a couple of advantages over Vincent. Vincent is a decent run blocker, but his weakness is pass protection. DeMulling while not quite the run blocker Vincent is, is the better pass blocker of the two.

Also, what is important to Bugel, is versatility. DeMulling has also played center.

Hmm, good pickup, another backup with a lot of starting experience who can only get better under Bugel...I swear that man could take a guy in a wheel chair and make him an average starting lineman.

Also, what is important to Bugel, is versatility. DeMulling has also played center.

that's definitley a big deal, all of our backups on the line can play more than one position with the exception of Heyer (although he plays both tackle positions). Versatility is definitley a huge deal to Gibbs and Buges.

Buges has done a helluva job here coaching up players. 2 or 3 weeks working with Joe Bugel and this guy will be very good.

I was pretty stoked on Vincent, and was initially disappointed by this. However, I trust Coach Bugel. I know that he picked the best guy available for the job.

Rick Demulling OMG this guy sucks believe me I know. I live in Detroit and have heard a lot about this guy and none of it is good. This does not help me stop worrying about our line. Matter of fact this pickup makes me worry more.

Maybe. I think Vincent probably is better overall talent wise but according to the WP he wants to start and not be relegated as a back-up.

Aren't you familiar with Redskin history? Gibbs 1 was all about other teams "rejects". Heck, George Allen did the same thing. Ever here of the "Over the Hill Gang"?
