Farbod21
First Steven A. Assclown and now someone almost equally stupid, Skip Clueless, says that even though Campbell has an average arm, he will be a decent QB. Decent arm?? The guy has a freakin CANNON. Am I dreaming? or are these two retarded? Did you see the hail marry last week? That was almost 70 yards in the air with pads on in the pocket. He overthrew one of the fastest WRs in the NFL by flicking his wrist. I really dont understand what the hell these mediots are talking about... :insane:
kevinklein
Did they really say that? That's simply sheer ignorance. Steven A. Smith doesn't know a lick about football though. As for Skip Bayless...I just despise him altogether.
rdskn4eva
Wow if they said that they are idiots. Even in last nights game that couldnt believe that he overthrew Moss by such a wide margin as Moss is considered one of the fasted guys in the NFL
jtyler42
They must be playing Madden b/c JC has a weak arm on their...Nothing like it is really a freakin cannon!
dockeryfan
All you have to do is watch him throw a 15 yard out to know this is wrong. A weak arm, and the defender jumps the route for an int. Every game you can see the strength of his arm. Thats just crazy talk.
Larry Brown #43
I didn't hear those comments, but wow. They haven't been paying attention at all. He has a rifle. It's almost TOO strong for his own good. The only challenge will be to corrall it so he doesn't throw the ball in the 400-level at FedEx Field on deep passing plays. Farbod21
Both said it on ESPN First Take. Smith was before the season started, and Clueless was on this mornings show.
ldysknzfn1
I vote retarded! Average arm? Average? I 've heard every excuse in the book today about our win last nite...and these folks aren't even Iggle fans!! So I just looked at them and said..."2-0" nuff said! Stophovr6
Stephen A Smith is smaller that a regulation size football if you don't count his mouth, so not sure how he would know that. Skip escaped from Shady Acres Mental Hospital in Tampa, and they're still bugging us to pick up his stuff.
AJ_Skins
He puts a lot of air under the ball when he throws it, which could make it look like his arm is only average. It is definitely not as strong as some other QBs, but I don't think he's necessarily lacking.
monkforhall
Why do they get paid just to make stuff up. If you watch Campbell throw one ball you can see that he has a rocket arm. That's like saying that Brunell has a cannon.
Oldskool
Stupidest comment of the day, bar none. He overthrew Moss by 10 feet last night on a deep go route. He also still has a tendency to throw high on receivers past 10 yards, which is an example of putting too much arm into this throws.
E-Dog Night
Do you have a link to reference for these comments? I just have a difficult time believing anyone would say that. He threw the ball almost 70 yards last week on that hail mary pass and his out passes clearly have tons o' zip.
DallasSucks19922010
Well Campbell just looks so calm when he throws and he looks like it wont be gun. Most balls dont need to be gunned in there but Campbell can prolly throw one 70 yards easily.
jrfriedm
Both of these guys are f'n morons that talk out of their @SSess and have never were never picked at the playground football/basketball games, so they became "sports journalists". d0ublestr0ker0ll
Ref to the hail mary pass week 1. Jason has one of the strongest arms in the league.
KelvinBryant
Well apparently Bayless thinks JC's arm is strong enough, because he picked us to win the NFC East even before the Philly game. I swear some of y'all will whine about anything.

He has a stronger arm than Romo sits to pee, Brady, Manning, Brees, and Bulger... All consider the top echelon of NFL QBs...

D'Pablo
I think what bothers me about this comment is that we haven't even seen the full extent of Campbell's arm. He barely put anything into that throw to Moss and still over shot him by a mile. Even on that hail mary, it looked effortless. I have a feeling this guy could toss it endzone to endzone. You don't see him gun short passes, but that's because of his sometimes remarkable touch and accuracy. This guy is a player. Everyone on Around the Horn said as much. Tony and Wilbon are said as much. Every clown on ESPN pretty much said as much except for these two doofuses.

It was at the very beginning of the show. This is basically verbatum of what skip bayless said. "Jason Campbell might not make a pro bowl, but he will be an adequate starter in the NFL. He does not have a strong arm, but it might be a little above average and that will be good enough."

Other QBs with stronger arms: McNabb Palmer Favre Young McNair (not starting) Vick Culpeper That's just off the top of my head. There may be more. McNabb has a weak arm, that was the knock on him out of college. He cant throw 60 yards. Manning and Brady arent even close. They have accurate arms sure, but their arm strength doesnt even come close to Campbells. Favre can sling lasers for sure, but so can campbell and id bet dollars to donuts that Jason can throw farther. Palmer and McNair are debatable...
