Brad89
Brad, you gotta help me out man.How does thigh and leg rhyme with mayonnaise? What is the battle lyric, "one egg short of the omlet" mean exactly? Rap is known to take liberties with the language, no doubt, but, "those other n****** dope, I'm wet crack baby" is insulting to who, how and why can't the sentence be remotely complete? Here's the song that remains the classic battle rap against all comers. Notice how much more tight the lyrics are without constant cursing. Compare songs that actually flow like the one above to any garbage today and tell me why you even listen to the crap today. That wasn't a battle lyric, it was just from a regular song. If you hear him say it, leg rhymes with mayonnaise. I like it. Southern rap is more appealing to me than northern rap. Some philly rap is pretty good, but I don't like a ton of the northern stuff. I agree with Megared, that's not very great..A good rhyming one that I just heard him say is this: "One time for me, one time for the DJ He be Khaled, I be lil' weezy Baby if ya ask me, if ya nasty Creative, gifted **** spit sporadic. I'm so diplomatic, democratic touch it, bring it, push it, systematic" Not a lot of substance, but it sounds good and it rhymes. "Young tune - the big kahuna, This is my ocean baby, y'all n*****s is tuna" Really short but I like the rhyme and the metaphor. "Young desperado, straight out the grotto - I'm so bad my shadow chooses not to follow. Little n****, but see me as a f***in' rhino, Lil Weezy hit this b***h like Rocky Marciano. It's a drought ain't it? How the **** would I know? N**** I been gettin' my Cher like Sonny Bono I ran the streets check my bio I started high wit' two O's just like Ohio I'm f****n' nuts - cashews But I'm so DC like fat shoes I skate away- like later dudes! Never get caught baby I'm mashed potato smooth And just when it stopped ... I made it move Respect me "n-word" I'm a dog, no Asian food" I think it's pretty good. I dig all the food references. Also the Rocky Marciano and Sonny Bono references were pretty good. The asian food thing though..not sure where he was going, but it made me laugh. skinsfan07
I like Weezy but right now I'm on the Lupe Fiasco bandwagon. I love Lupes stuff. Have you heard his Diamonds song? It's great and very truthful.
Joe Sick
Just got this off iTunes. Figured I'd share... Three words to the whack, step yourself back Just gettin' down, and you then you're givin' no slack Like a Burger King with a sack of Big Macs We're throwin' down with the radical sacks On time, in your mind you see You gotta boogie to your best ability You gotta funk it up until it knocks you down And when you're funkin' up, be sure to pass it around Come on, let's go to work We got what'll make your body jerk Make you throw your hands up in the air Shake your booty and scream, "Oh, yeah" 'Cause we are the Jam On Crew And jammin' on it is how we do the do We'll funk you up until you boogie down So come people check out the sound Seriously, I still dig Ghostface the most of the current guys. Fishscale and more fishscale are bad ass. Old School is still the best. Maybe the "nappy head hos" comments will usher in a new golden age of hiphop, where it gets back to who has the best lyrics, not the guns, hos, rims stuff. BurgundyMalaise
I'm saying that everyone should. Well that shows your knowledge/respect of the rap game. 'Ether' was the ****, but no one has any business going at HOV, esp. not Cam'ron and Dipset. Nas is the only one that made it intriguing in the least. I say Jay and Nas share the NY throne, but Papoose is building a foundation to be one of the best lyricists EVER.
HEavyJumbo85
Okay for all of the old school guys, this song symbolizes what a travesty modern day hip hop has become. I will listen to little Wayne from time to time because it's just straight up hilarious what this guy can get away with saying and what words he can rhyme together. Don't take his music seriously, it's not serious music at all, heck the only thing of his that can really be called music are some of his beats which are not bad. He's not a bad artist, he's just giving the people what they want and he really flourishes in this new "mainstream" hip hop, which is basically a bunch of guys rhyming about how great they are and how much money they throw on strippers. He basically perpetuates the stereotype of today's "mainstream" rapper. If you're a hardcore rap fan this guy definitley won't do it for you, most "main stream" guys won't. If you want good traditional hip hop, there's some great guys that are currently underground like MF Doom, immortal technique, and MED just to name a few. This one is pretty vulgar guys, but don't take it too seriously. I dare you to try and come away from this song without laughing about it. It's by Lil' Wayne...Money on my mind. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xt1vQ865llE Yeah [Chorus 2X with variations] Money on my mind Money on my mind Money on my mind Money money on my mind Money on my mind Money on my mind Money money on my mind So money is all I think of Steppin out the motherf*ckin car they in awe I'm lookin like a star ***** when you see me make a wish Holla at ya mother****in boy J.R. BurgundyMalaise
I like Weezy's flow, and I'm a fan of his. Best rapper alive? I don't know about all of that. What I do know is I'm looking forward to the Weezy/Juelz Santana album coming out That album is gunna suck. I Can't Feel My Face will be all about Juelz Santana claiming to be some kinda hardcore drug kingpin. Nobody with any common sense believes him, I'm 5 10 175 and I would kill him in a fight. He's a phony *****. I'ma big Wayne guy, very dissapointed that he jumped on that whole Cocaine/Crack train with Juelz "HAlf of my body weight is in my bandana" Santana. skins84
Lil Wayne is a beast! He doesn't have to send a message or try to save to world with his raps. That's not what rap is about. Just because some people try to send a message or tell a story doesn't mean that everybody has to do that. Lil wayne's flow and punchlines are unmatched. "Over Here Hustlin'" [Chorus:] We over here hustlin', we over here grindin' We over here hustlin', we over here grindin' We over here hustlin', we over here grindin' I'm all, I'm all about my paper, I'm all, I'm all about my paper We over here hustlin', we over here grindin' We over here hustlin', we over here We over here hustlin', we over here grindin' I'm all, I'm all about my paper, I'm all, I'm all about my paper [Lil' Wayne:] Now ho don't ask me what I'm doing, thats me in the hook. And I just keep on getting it getting it like a ni' in the book Yes, wayne straight like a key of that good sh' If your ***** don't know the rules, I will read her the book. I got the key to the boat, I got the key to the jet. I got the key to success, get money invest. Read up with the rest. I got a Swedish connect. That means my weed is the best, yoke to even the stress. OK, the coupe is ridiculous and the jeep is a mess. That's called my bullets and lugers, I put 'em deep in your neck. Adam's apple meet banana clip. You know my script, I just get my chips and then I dip, and then I dip. They say the bull**** walks, the money talks. So I don't answer, I don't answer unless the money calls. Yeah that's my word, thats my word know I will front for y'all. Its money over everything and ****es under all. M.O.B! Yeah... great stuff C'mon man, don't hate. Jay-Z is a business mogul, as well as a genius. He expanded into other genres for business purposes. Dude knows how to make money, simple as that. I agree that some of his tracks (and most of the well known) are a little pop-ish for my taste, but he's still a ****ing monster. Go back listen to Reasonable Doubt, In My Lifetime Vol.1,The Blueprint, and the Intro on The Dynasty alone makes him a legend. That's my ****! But I can see how quickly people forget the classics when you have a song called '30 Something' That song pisses me off. But at least he still has "good credit and such"

BurgundyMalaise
To each his own I'll still listen to it, but I just know from the title all it will be about. Juelz Santana plays into all the BS that dillutes hip-hop as an art form. He was, I guess still is, talented I just wish he would move away from that "I Am Human Crack In the Flesh" Mantra for a second. ANd I don't mean "Hey Ma". BurgundyMalaise
Yea Weezy ****s with all the sports. Him and Jay def. make the most references to sports. I like the one where Wayne says: "One of the best to do it, yes kid you are (3rd person) Young MJ, I'm checkin' Dumars" (Joe) That's my favorite Weezy song right now. He truly flows on this and has a great lyrical delivery. I have to say, I've never put Wayne up there as far as spitting the most profound lyrics (even though he's my 3rd fav rapper) but this **** will rock your socks off.
