I'd be more surprised if Springs plays than if Portis does. Right now I'm thinking Springs won't play (I'd rather he not so he's fully healed and doesn't miss any more time from this injury throughout the season), but I'm thinking Portis will be a gametime decision and play a little bit, maybe 10 carries or so. Fox can report whatever they want, but the game's still a week away and we don't know anything for sure yet.

They were talking about how the qb things were going and the guy asked about Shawn Springs and Clinton and the sportscaster said.... "Shawn is a no go and so is Clinton for the first game" Any truth to this or are we still on the fence?

If Gibbs hasn't announced it then I don't count it as information.

I hate to say it, but I don't think it looks too good as of now. I think week 2 is the target for Portis. Who knows what's going on with Springs. I hope both make it back by week 2.

HTTR!

We certainly will need both of them for the Dallas game...I hope they will be back then.

BTW, awesome sig--you nailed all of the offseason mania on the head.

Minnesota doesnt have any world beater receivers so a good pash rush will cause problems to their passing game, I'm more worried about not having Portis. Hopefully Betts and Duckett can step up. Rock is a very below average running back in my opinion.

I have always thought myself about Rock.

...and who's going to throw it to him...Brad?

Don't underestimate Brad Johnson. He can be deadly and he has

a sweet passing game...only problem he had while playing or us

was throwing interceptions at key points in the game.

If we have to count on a pass rush then we may be in trouble.

That has always been one of our worst areas. I would not overlook

MN. They are very hungary and are on a 6 game winning streak.

They also played very well against Dallas last week. They have

a very good front line.

Are you kidding??? In 1999, Brad had the best QB rating for most of the season for the entire league. He didn't throw an interception until week 11.
