HailYeah
I think thats a good goal. It would crush his old record and solidify him as pretty much a top three running back in the League. Plus it would finally shut up these pathetic Gints fans. 24 years old + 2,000 yds. = STUD
Kosher Ham
Very possibly if the OL remains healthy.
VaK9Trainer
he just said it on the audio show. helll yeaaa Works for me. If he gets 2,000 yards he's my pick for league MVP.:notworthy
dreamshatterer
It depends on the o-line and if the defense can get turnovers to keep offense on the field to feed him the ball and give him oppurtunites.
CPstretch
larry said to byner: "i think 1700 and 1800 yards is realistic" byner: "oh we've discussed it and 2000 is the goal, and CP has some additional goals, but the ultimate goal is getting to miami." OxonHillSkinsfan
welll since we're gonna win the SB then this will happen in all likelihood.
H-O-G
With the addition of Al saunders and the running scheme that Larry Johnson and Priest Holmes ran, I find it very possible
Dirk Diggler
I think the defenses within the NFC East are just a little too good for that. 1800 is possible though if we can enjoy great health on offense.
No_Pressure
No no no I dont want his goal to be 2000 yards as much as I want it to be 24 touchdowns
icbmayday
i think it should happen cause our offense is definately oppened up with the additions we have made people now just cant be expecting the run or moss and cooley
jmcardle1982
Very possibly if the OL remains healthy. I don't know if that is very possible even with a healthy OL. Betts will get his carries and Portis does start to wear down at the end of the season. But enough hating, I think Portis will go for 2,200, break the record and lead us to a Super Bowl. bobzmuda
With the addition of Al saunders and the running scheme that Larry Johnson and Priest Holmes ran, I find it very possible IIRC, Saunders will be in charge of the passing game and play-calling, while Bugel is in charge of the running game. This would be similar to the setup in KC. It would appear that Bugel's still the man for the run game. Of all the coaches, I've been disappointed with his peformance so far. Ikaros
The addition of Moss last year opened up alot of holes for him, with 2 more solid receivers, and a whole new offense, i wouldnt be suprized if he had the best year of his career.
NOVA2Tampa
welll since we're gonna win the SB then this will happen in all likelihood. Yup...and Portis, Moss, and Taylor will party it up with all their buddies from the "U"!
CPstretch
i think it is very possible. the WRs will spread defenses out so much that CP will be running everywhere. fantasy god and NFL MVP
NewCliche21
While I think that this is a semi-realistic goal, isn't it pretty much EVERY running back's goal? I don't see why this is news to anyone.
ddub52
weve got quite some competition within the division for that to happen. its still possible though
redskin48
I really think that it could happen.
Guest santana4prez
Late last season you could tell Portis was finally starting to adjust to the Redskins and become the same back he was in Denver. Portis could reach 2,000 yds and with the talent surrounding him he will have holes to run through. HTTR and Portis!!!!!:notworthy :helmet: :notworthy
WeownU
Portis is not a 2000 yard back. Sorry, ain't gonna happen. Get it out of your heads. Especially in the NFC East.
Sailskipper
The goal was 1800 yards last season...so if CP continues his trend we will be looking at 1700-1800 yards next season...i can live with that.
NattyLight
Clinton Portis' potential this year excites me greatly. However, I do NOT believe he will rack up 2000yds. I mean, how many people have done it before? (4) [Lewis, Dickerson, Simpson, Payton?] Plus, if the additional ground threat of Randel El / Moss with reverse type trickery generates the yardage I hope it does, it might not leave room for 125yd/game average for CP. :2cents:
red78skin2
IT could happen for one reason.... NO NFL team can't put 8 or 9 men in the box any more... RESPECT IS DUE... THE TIME IS NOW...
