Redskins Hike Cost Of Tickets, Parking (merged)

Being in 5 weddings this year, I may have to look into selling mine as well.... kills me to say that, but it's just so hard to justify it when you have so many other expenses. I will post them on here if I do end up selling.

I sure am glad I have upper bowl seats, the view might now be as good but the cost is nice. Find someone to split the cost of a parking ticket with you and it is not so bad.

so can someone tell me what the $69 tickets in the UD went up to ? Over $80 per or with the tax, over $90??

The article said the upper bowl tickets were raised $7.00 to $11.00, so they are probably going to be around the $80-$90 range. I have the $50.00 tickets so I guess I am going to be paying around $70.00 per game now.

I wish I had the option of not buying the preseason tickets since I usually end up giving those away anyways.

Worst part is, the wine and cheesers will be spilling over from the club level into the lower bowl. Our fans in the lower bowl were great this season, I hope not too many are forced to drop their tickets because of this.

This are looking up for a move down again, Bob. :)

Always look on the bright side right?? :)

I really don't mind so much the cost of the tickets went up. I just think pulling that tax out and then saying we only raised ticket prices 10.00 is shady. Just man up and tell me my tickets are 18.00 more this year. I'll pay it. I hope this will allow them to upgrade the jumbotron.

As for parking, I'd buy a season green lot pass for $50.00 a game if I could. So everyone getting them for $35.00 quit your whining.

Looks like I will be heading to the Upper deck and walking from the blue lot. Mark, What about your chili and your flags?

yeah, good point... do you guys think a lot of folks might try to move out of the lower level and into the upper level? If so, how would that work? would they move behind the people already seated in the upper deck or would the current ticket holders get moved back to accomodate the lower level people moving up?

I honestly don't understand why anyone would pay to go to a live sporting event anymore. For the cost of a season ticket package, you can have a beautiful home theater system. And you never have to ask, "What just happened?" I decided about five years ago that I will only go to professional sporting events (aside from baseball which is still reasonable) where I am comped. I haven't missed all that much.

National Football League: 2005

TMR's exclusive Fan Cost Index survey, now in its 13th year, tracks the cost of attendance for a family of four. The FCI includes: four average-price tickets; four small soft drinks; two small beers; four hot dogs; two game programs; parking; and two adult-size caps.

You can navigate to older FCI surveys by clicking on the gold arrows to the left or right of the year listed above.

2006: 1st/2nd Parking matching only New England?

I can see how we've been lacking in ticket prices in the league: In the last 9 years we've consistantly done better than the other 32 teams..

1998 - 2001 is totally acceptable to have #1 prices (we were in the championships every year)

2002 - 2005 is totally acceptable to have #2 prices (we were in the playoffs every year)

I understand that its what the ticketholder is willing to pay: But were not talking about 17th ticket prices over the last 10 years... And when/if we find out that the ticketholder isnt willing its too late.. the yellow seats stick out quite a bit on t.v.

No kidding. Just like trying to get Wizards tickets last year when they were making their playoff run. Now they are back to $35 club level a dime a dozen. I guess they call it the price of winning.

This increase doesn't affect me personally...but God help the paying fans if the Skins win the Super Bowl under Snyder.

Hello all,

I have a quick question for anyone who is a member of the tail gate club. If you renew your season tickets do you have to renew your tail gate club dues as well.

I believe you do. You should call or email the ticket office and ask to be sure. They are pretty helpful when you call.

This is why I simply don't accept the "Danny is a marketing genius" argument. I think he has an insane fan base that he can sell ANYTHING to and has no shame in doing it.

The fans have been given a pretty poor product over the last decade and have continued to pay through the nose to get it. This does not happen in other industries.

Puts that argument of who has the most revenue argument last week into perspective.

You guys win.

Seriously though, thats why I don't go to the games. I love football with all my heart, but it chaps my arse to pay that kind of money to all these rich guys. I dropped over 10 grand last year on a home theatre room in my house. Projector, 100" screen, full surround, HD, and theatre seats. When I sit down for a game, I swear it is better than being there. And when you think about it. I spent about the same as a few years worth of season tickets when you include parking, tickets, food, and god help you those overpriced beers.

Anyway, I'm glad I did it, and with the price of theater room stuff coming down, some of you might want to try it. I think you'd be glad you did

Its a business move, and a smart one. While im sure a lot of people are going to be upset with it, as people will be whenever prices on anything rise it makes sense. Since there are so many people that want Redskins season tickets, if he raises the price of a ticket section, he increases per ticket revenue, without selling less tickets. People that no longer want to pay that much will leave and the tickets will be bought by people who have been waiting to get them. Im sure people would like the tickets to remain cheap, but to consider the massive demand for them, and that this is only a portion of tickets(lower bowl) it doesnt make a whole lot of sense in ANY market to not raise the price.

I usually go to the game then come home and watch it recoreded in HD, best of both worlds. :)

In this current environment, it makes perfect business sense.

What I don't understand is why this environment exists still. I mostly stopped going to the movies because I get a better experience at home watching DVDs. I've been to FedEx Field and found it be a painful experience. I have more fun watching on a big screen from a comfortable chair with cheaper, better food.

I wonder if other fans aren't getting closer to my mindset.

I'm actually with you. I'd rather spend the money on home entertainment which I can use 365 days a year versus tickets, which I can use 8 times.
