TheDarb
I wonder if the Eagles will be interested in him? Troy Edwards got whacked by the Jags today, and he has some WCO experience. I think Edward's phone will ring first.
The extremist
it's a wrap...........the book on the 2001 draft class of the Washington Redskins is officially closed...........1. Rod Gardner 2. Fred Smoot 4. Sage Rosenfels 5. Darnerian McCants 6. Mario Monds They are all history now.......................... aside from smooty, that list is uuuuhhhhggggglllllyyyyy!!! these days, you CANNOT afford to piss away entire drafts... anyways, i agree with other posters that I was a fan of DMac, and I hope he is successful in whatever he does. TaylorPickSix
sad. i liked him, but dyson outplayed him all preseason and i guess worked harder. i figured something was up when dyson was playing with the starters (ramsey throwing to him). But that being said, I gotta quote my Grandma - " If you don't want to set the table, don't expect to carve the Thanksgiving turkey" D Mac - you have to be a professional 24/7. No practice heart - no PT. All my best to you. You got skills - be a pro 24/7.

Danny Montana
What a clown. If McCants actually put some effort into football instead of trying to become a 7th rate R.Kelly, he might actually catch on as a decent reciever somewhere. Keep living the dream DMac. I'll keep looking for your next platinum album to drop.
diehardskinsfan
I kinda liked Dmac's play, but not enough good reasons to keep him on the team. Competition is getting thicker and the bar is being raised.
The Full Monty
Philly better not sign him.
bulldog
what is ironic is that of that 2001 draft class Rod Gardner and Darnerian McCants were let go by the club not because they lacked talent but because both players refused to show the kind of work ethic and focus that is required to become a top player in the NFL. jds84
Good luck DMac...he'll be another player that will succeed elsewhere but never would here. Be sure that this is one guy who will be smiling when you cross the goal line.
skinshog
This is a bit sad because I thought he was a player that really could have made an impact, however, the work ethic must not have been there. If football is not his passion then that's respectable.
bulldog
if football was not his passion then he must merely have been passing through picking up a paycheck. nothing to respect the guy for about that SKINSHOG he just wasted his time and ours. diehardskinsfan
I don't believe Dmac had the physical attributes to excel into the starting lineup as the BigMan wide receiver. If you are looking for that, you have to have a much stronger upper body to out muscle defenders. Height is not everything... So long Dmac.. So you mean top players likke James Trash, Kevin Dyson, and David Patten who have been on top Receivers in the NLF for the last few years?

I think he is leaning more towards Terrell Owens, Hines Ward, Marvin Harrison they all put in a lot of work.
PCS
I'll wish him well and hope he can get things together to make another team.
bulldog
well, James Thrash has been a starter on a team that twice made the NFC title game. Dyson was a starter on a team that went to the Super Bowl. Patten has been a contributor on a team that has won three Super Bowls. so, ONEMIC, you are going to compare that to what, the fact McCants sat on the inactive list for most of last season? come on. face the facts. the guy didn't produce. he had a chance to play on a team whose offense ranked #30 in the NFL last year and couldn't get on the field. THAT is the most damning thing that can be said about his career.
@DCGoldPants
honestly, I can't believe we're keeping Dyson, and not looking for another tall target who hasn't looked not so hot this preseason. Dyson had a drop and a holding call on friday night.... and he survives?
