  1. So many big plays. Fun for me. D coordinators probably tearing their hair out.
  2. We can match money if we want to. Its debatable if you should if its like 15 Mil, but we can. We can't however provide personnel power as that goes to Peters or North Carolina itself if he values going home.
  3. There is no debate that our situation is vastly superior to Carolina, but we saw Dan out-kick the coverage when he brought in Rivera. Crazy money and unreasonable power at the HC spot is an alluring draw. Tepper will be able to draw somebody he probably shouldn't have access to with that offer, whether its Ben or not. There is probably a 95% chance he out-kicks his own coverage w/ his HC search, its just a question of by how far.
  4. Good-googly-moogly, even for a hypothetical talking point this supplemental draft stuff involving Williams is so far beyond tin foil hat territory its not even funny. I'm pretty sure the shark was cleared about 400ft back or so.
  5. I believe it has been pointed out already that an active NFL player is not allowed to own a part of a team, so at least some of that stuff you can straight up ignore.
  6. Never understood that way of looking at it. Whoever they hire will have already been evaluating the draft. Its not like they are gonna hire some out of work bum off the couch who has not been watching film. They are gonna hire somebody who 9 times outta 10 is already actively evaluating college players. They don't just forget what they know when they come here either. Its not like a scout has to start over from scratch. They just bring their info with them. Nobody is going to magically forget that Williams has arm talent, Maye is a professional large human being who can walk and chew gum at the same time, and Daniels has wheels. Hardest part is probably reconstructing a new big board honestly.
  7. Howell's running ability was more than functional. It was and is very good. He has the skill, speed and wiggle necessary to easily put up a plus 500yd campaign in a Daniel Jones kinda way. What he lacks is the ability to finish a run not by getting every inch possible, but by protecting himself, and that is a death knell for QB rushing. He did not have a ton of carries this year but a big number ended in absolute car crashes. Most of these could have been avoided if Sam had the mindset to get on the ground himself, rather than run until he was taken down. I gave EB more flak than almost anybody here but the one thing I will always give him is that he recognized that he had to protect Howell from himself when it came to rushing attempts. It was not a crime to under-utilize Sam's running ability. If allowed to do it, he would not have made it 17 games. If Howell ever gets it thru his head that he needs to protect himself in the open field, he can be a very good runner. Without that however, his rushing ability does not provide enough of an upside to warrant the risk of injuries or dumb fumbles.
  8. I'd love to see Billy B schedule some visits w/ other teams and clog up their coaching searches. He should take some other competitor off the board.
  9. We are not the only meal on the menu. A lot of these guys have interviews w/ multiple orgs and you gotta let them parse their options. That takes some time. Snyder is gone, so the days of "You have 6 hours to accept the job offer or its gone" are out the window. You have to let your applicants do what is best for them if we wanna be that good org we all wanna be. Adam Peters should not just quickly accept our job when he has requests from the Raiders on the table too. Same of Ian Cunningham when the Chargers have reached out to him. Halaby has multiple teams coming after him too. Who knows, maybe someone is offering more money or incentives, or moves them closer to family. Better yet it provides leverage for them to come back and get an even better deal off of us.
  10. Skipping a good QB draft just to give yourself an opportunity to move up in an unknown QB quality draft is silly. We have our pick of quality candidates. You can't ask for much more than that.
  11. I'm Christian and it has not stopped me from voting Democrat one iota. I don't know what kind of churches some of these other peeps have been going to but get yourself a dose of good old fashioned "black church" and it sets you straight.
  12. Problem with that line of thinking is Sam is not a high cost asset. He can not afford to be bad for a stretch of time. He has no sunk cost fallacy safety net to fall back on. It is pretty easy to find young QBs Sam outplayed. Bryce Young is at the top of the list. Sam demolishes him in the majority of metrics, but the "lesser" guy will be the unquestioned starter next year while the "better" guy won't be simply due to the investment made into the player. Its not a matter of patience or development, its simply how the league treats its low cost QBs. High cost guys like Peyton or Bryce will be given every opportunity to improve and grow. Sam will not. Its not fair, but its the way it is. He had to come out good and end good. He didn't so the team will make every effort to replace him. Now his only pathway to success will be thru someone else failure/injury and not due to opportunities given to him.
  13. Man, so many good options. I don't even have much of a ranking for a few of 'em, I'd just be cool with it. Screw 1A and 1B. Option A is looking good. but I also like what I see from choice number 1 then you gotta like the vibes coming off Omega pathway I'm happy camper right now.
