  1. That guy TrancesWithWolves is always writing sarcastic comments like that. Don't take him too seriously. I suspect he was just pulling our collective legs and offering a bit of caution to those (including himself) who are hoping for immediate change. Just my guess.
  2. Any word on if the new owner(s) are going to retain Rivera, Wright and Julie Donaldson? (Or am I jumping the gun a tad.)
  3. It looks like we can put to rest, at least for now, any hope that Goodell will conduct an independent investigation of Team Snyder. The WFT may have hiredhired counsel recommended by the NFL but they are essentially investigating themselves. "He who pays controls." It remains to be seen whether or not the inquiry will be the typical corporate white wash or a true objective investigation with teeth. The only weapon we have to influence this is to maintain public outrage. We can't let this story die. The status quo is unacceptable.
  4. I am having a similar crisis of conscience. This latest team calamity has seemingly crossed a moral Rubicon for me. It's gotten to the point where I feel unclean supporting this team, despite my love for it, because of the despicable and indefensible (imho) actions of its owner.
  5. Is there any place that WTF fans can send their opinions to the NFL on this matter? Somewhere where it can actually be noticed (in volume if not individually) by real decisionmakers.
  6. Yes, This is exactly what I asked for a few hours ago! The reference to “appropriate action” being taken if the team “fails to cooperate” is a clear shot across the bow of Snyder’s luxury yacht. I suspect that potential witnesses with NDAs will indeed be indemnified against liability for their statements to the NFL. There is hope of excising the cancer from the corpus proper after all. ”This may not be the beginning of the end but it is the end of the beginning.”
  7. Thus begins the season of the spin. Expect Snyder’s new twitter account to also attack the accusers and the “fake news” press while pumping up all the wonderful inclusive things that good old benevolent man of the people Daniel Snyder continues to do. I aint buying what he’s selling. As a loyal fan I demand an independent investigation by the NFL.
  8. Goodell has a responsibility to the fans and the league to independently investigate this matter. The only goal should be to ferret out the truth and hold those responsible accountable— no matter who they are. It is no longer tenable to allow the team to do its own inquiry. With the latest article that ship has sailed for good. I do not trust them to produce anything other than a rubber stamped hermetically sanitized document showing that, while terrible things happened, Snyder was neither aware of those things, nor at fault for their occurence. That simply won’t do. As a prerequisite to this investigation the NFL must demand access to any and all former or current team employees regardless of whether or not a non-disclosure agreement is in effect. If the Washington Football Team refuses to allow indemnification for those with NDAs that alone should be considered evidence of guilt. This is serious. This can not be ignored or swept under the rug. This is the time for action.
  9. This is so sleazy and absolutely believable. Snyder and his minions get no benefit of the doub t from me. Although Baker's statement that he was told the video was for Snyder is clearly hearsay this is not a court of law. This is all about public perception and if the public outcry against Snyder is loud enough and sustained long enough for the good of the shield the NFL will be forced to remove him as owner. The fact that Snyder and his attorneys have known that the Post was working on this since at least Aug. 18th and have declined to comment puts in perspective Snyder's true reason for creating a twitter account that will only have specially approved followers. Prepare for an onslaught of "alternative facts" and "fake news" declarations-- I'm not buying anything he says. It is time to end this reign of tyranny once and for all.
  10. Turned on Sirius NFL radio and almost had an accident. Prayers up for Ron and his family. Do whatever it takes to make a full recovery. Football is a secondary issue.
  11. I guess this is as good a place as any to put this. Emmy nominees came out today. There’s a lot of good stuff ready for streaming. The drama series category in particular is loaded with great shows. The only nominated drama series I can’t recommend is “The Mandalorian” and that’s only because I haven’t seen it yet. A full list of nominees can be found here: https://variety.com/2020/tv/news/emmys-2020-nominations-complete-list-1234715939/
  12. Wow, that chicken parm looks fantastic! Some of the food in this thread looks like it was done by professional chefs for a cooking magazine layout. I eat like a caveman compared to you guys.
  13. But on the bright side they plan to send all season ticket holders a “new from old stock” Albert Haynesworth bobblehead in lieu of a refund.
  14. I know I’m late to the dance on this, but if anyone who likes sci-fi hasn’t watched “The Expanse” yet, take my advice and move it to the top of your queue. I started it yesterday morning and I’m already halfway through season two. So far it just keeps getting better.
  15. @Jumbo, normally I prefer micro-targeted threads. However, given the historic transitional period our team is going through, I think there’s a real benefit to having a smorgasbord type thread that covers a number of related topics in one place.
  16. Fart yes but old? If you say so. lol Based on the tenor and depth of your eloquent response, I think you’re right: Hamilton, is something that you definitely wouldn’t receive any benefit from viewing. (BTW the soaked Depends line was a joke.)
  17. I thought exactly the same thing. Just another learn your lesson in three hours and leave the theater a better man type polemical snooze fest. No way it could possibly live up to even a fraction of the hype. They ‘aint getting a dime of my money. Then it came out on Disney+ and I watched it thinking I’d probably end up switching to something else before long. Afterwards when I picked my jaw up off the floor and changed my fully soaked Depends I watched it a second time. Soon I’ll give it a third go. — Just my experience, ymmv.
  18. His grandma called him that. His grandma just passed. He may come to this forum and read what is said about him on the thread bearing his name. I know I would if I had just signed with a new team. Would you really want him to read what you wrote? Especially now while he is mourning? I know you meant no ill will and it is easy to forget that we are talking about human beings with feelings-- but we are.
  19. Today is the 24th anniversary of Kerri Strug’s amazing vault to win team gold in the ‘96 Olympics. This is my second favorite all time Olympic moment only behind Ali lighting the Olympic flame that same year. You could live a million lifetimes and be hard pressed to have one moment as awe inspiring as this one.
  20. Has their been any announcement about changes to Redskins Nation since Larry Michael resigned? Specifically, will it continue and will Julie Donaldson be the host?
  21. Washington Team Football or WTF also fits perfectly into our fight song with no awkward need for rephrasing (Archer) at all: Hail to the Team Football Hail victory Generic ball players on the war path Fight for old pc!
  22. Agreed. Washington Team Football abbreviated WTF works for me on multiple levels. Hail to the team Dan Snyder has given us. A shining light upon a hill of dung. The virtual paradigm of ineptitude. Hail to the WTFs!!! Snyder finally got it right.
