  1. I agree in principle. I either read or heard somewhere that the issue is pass protection. Antonio's not always sure of what his responsibilities are on a given play. So for now they have limited his plays to those he is completely comfortable with not just as a runner/receiver but as a blocker. Hopefully this week he's ready for a larger portion on his plate.
  2. At 3-3 we would be, at worst, 2 games out of first place in the division. So yeah, I go for it as he would instantly transform our passing game and free Terry from being constantly double teamed. I'd offer a third and if necessary consider a second round pick straight up.
  3. Perhaps so. A good magician never reveals his secrets and religiously practices and fine tunes his craft before revealing it to the public.
  4. Presto change-o! ”And like that POOF he was gone.” The Usual Suspects
  5. That’s up to Danny Snyder. However... “Danny's not here Mrs. Torrance. Danny has gone away.”
  6. Rewatching the game. There’s a sequence where Chase just dominates and disrupts the entire Eagles drive: Start of second quarter. Eagles 1st and 10 on their 37 yard line. Chase, who is playing on the right side for the first time, defeats a double team and solo tackles the rb for a two yard gain. Eagles 2nd and 8 on their 39 yard line. QB drops back to pass. Chase blows by Peters and has a free run to the QB but he sees the rb is free coming out of the backfield. Chase covers him like he’s Monte Coleman in his prime taking away any possibility of a pass. Meanwhile Montez Sweat engulfs Wentz for a sack. Hockey assist for Chase. Eagles 3rd and 20 on their 27 yard line. QB drops back to pass. Chase rushes hard but at the last moment senses something. Quick pass to rb on his side. Chase does a 180 accelerates like no man on earth his size should be able to and solo tackles the running back for a small gain. Punt. And this was just the kids 1st game. Wow!
  7. RED ALERT: This is a call to arms folks. Don’t let those other fan bases rob Chase of his just desserts! Vote early and often just like on November 3rd. 🤪
  8. Damn Logan! Pop your claws and dice those s.o.b.s up. Be fearless— remember, you got admantium bones and healing factor dude! sheesh
  9. Wasn’t here at the time but no shame in that stance. Both positions are infinitely defensible. Playing to win has a purity that cleanses the soul. It aims for a Platonic ideal. It is the honorable stance of true believers. Playing to get a higher draft pick is for those, like myself, who have been both corrupted and sophisticated by the dark paradox of life. A place where stone cold realists reign.
  10. Good question FZ. I was going off the video from pff that SkinsInParadise posted. Didn’t realize that it might not be official. Regardless, WE will always know that he had 2 recoveries and 2 sacks in his first game. On a side note I miss your zombie puns. I know you can’t do it all the time as that gets rancidly old and foul (zombie pun) but you were so clever in your zombie integrations that it was entertaining (to me at least). Perhaps you can occasionally sprinkle one in for old times sake.
  11. I think we could argue the validity of our divergent opinions ad nauseum and neither of us are likely to suddenly have a moment of enlightened clarity and change our minds. We expressed our views and we both stand firm. Sometimes that’s a good place to conclude things before endless argument becomes nothing more than an intellectual exercise in semantics.
  12. Factually correct. Half stop. But where was this owner who is, as you correctly pointed out, “not some outsider who played no role in anything” when articles were written about the unseemly institutionally condoned misconduct of his employees over more than a decade? Was he rushing to have his photograph taken in a threesome with Larry Michael and Alex Santos? Did he have a press conference and answer questions directly? Or did he issue a hideous press release that Ron Rivera later called a PERSONAL STATEMENT— not a team statement— claiming among other things that HE was the victim in all this? Snyder is the owner and that absolutely gives him the right to claim victory. That doesn’t make it any less unseemly in my eyes.
  13. Best comment: “He’s gonna be wearing a gold jacket one day.”
  14. Updated to 2 sacks and 2 forced fumbles by PFF but not officially updated by the NFL as of this writing.
  15. So the NFL saw the Kerrigan fumble the same way I did after reviewing it. Yesterday’s post-game stats only gave him 1.5 sacks and 1 forced fumble. Great debut!
  16. Talk about shamelessly basking in someone else's reflected glory. The comments are absolutely brutal and on point. Just a smattering for those seeking a Monday morning pickup:
  17. The best defensive debut of a heralded draft pick in Redskins history. Chase thoroughly dominated from beginning to end. It also seemed to me that Chase caused the fumble, recovered by Kerrigan, that essentially ices the game. In the reverse angle replay you can see that as Wentz pulls his right hand, which holds the ball, back towards his body it comes in contact with his left arm. If you look closely at his left arm you see that Chase grabs and pushes it into his right hand and the ball comes loose. On another play, that was called back, Chase tips a Carson Wentz pass high up in the air that was intercepted but we had someone jump off side. He also seems to have a veteran’s sixth sense for when a team is running a draw, misdirection, or sucker play against him and he uses that inhuman burst of his to get to and tackle the runner. Just awe inspiring to watch him play.
  18. FOR ANYONE WHO HAS YOUTUBE TV: NFL Redzone is having a free preview through 9/13 (this Sunday). So essentially you get the first week of RedZone free. RedZone is currently rerunning all the week 17 action. So I’m hunkered down getting my football fix on. Hope the Skins lose “today” that guarantees us a shot at Chase Young. 😊 EDIT: It’s really enlightening hearing some of the commentary nearly a year after the games were played. Most prescient comment comes with 11 mins 25 seconds remaining in the 3rd guarter of the Packers @ Lions game. The announcer after a gamebreak showing a Chiefs TD says: “YOU KNOW I FEEL LIKE EVERYBODY’S IGNORING THE CHIEFS I REALLY DO. I THINK THAT’S JUST BECAUSE BALTIMORE HAS BEEN SO GOOD BUT THEY’RE JUST KIND OF LAYING IN THE WEEDS. THEY’VE FORGOTTEN THAT THEIR DEFENSE HAS GOTTEN BETTER DOWN THE STRETCH...” If I only knew then what I know now I would have mortgaged the house and gone to Vegas. Finally get that slice of la dolce vita that I’ve always dreamed of... -sigh-
  19. Apparently Ron Rivera does. Paraphrasing here but he recently said that he wants AG to focus on and master a limited number of RB and WR plays rather than trying to learn the entire playbook going into week one. So I expect that the first few weeks Gibson's liable to line up anywhere.
