  1. I'd like to see one or both of the Vindman brothers have a place in this administration.
  2. Hit the cart one too many times while cooking. I put the pizza stone on the wrong grate. Pizza was supposed to be on the STONE not on the grate 🤣 Oops, sorry. It was good...😂
  3. i thought this was going to be an article from The Onion. No worries, people, they say it's over. White House Declares Pandemic Over As It Cites Renowned Scientist Ivanka Trump The Trump administration triumphantly declared victory over the coronavirus pandemic on Tuesday, one week before the 2020 election and with COVID-19 cases surging across the county. The lie came in a news release on a new 62-page report from the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy listing what it claims are the scientific and technological accomplishments during President Donald Trump’s first term. The list includes, “ENDING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.” ... Among other White House officials, Tuesday’s release includes a quote from Ivanka Trump, the president’s daughter and adviser who has zero training or background as a scientific expert. “Over the past four years, President Trump’s policies and investments in science and technology ensure America stands ready to solve today’s most pressing challenges and that our workforce is prepared for tomorrow’s innovations,” Ivanka Trump said. “For years to come, these achievements will guarantee the United States remains the world’s leader in research, discovery and the advancement of industries that will shape our future.” https://www.yahoo.com/huffpost/white-house-science-reporting-ending-pandemic-185543473.html
  4. As usual, talk of things to come that never materialize: Infrastructure Week Tax Breaks for the Middleclass days before the midterm elections Senior Discount Drug cards a month before the election ...and on & on & on
  5. Since I've been down on Turner every game this year, I was actually impressed with the play calling. Kept Allen steady with the plays & got Gibson, McKissic & Barber in plays that were their strengths. Steady Allen & grind out scores is how they need to win. Get up a few scores and the DL is a different beast.
  6. As well as CVS locations in Virgnia. No symptoms needed. Here's a link to find locations: https://cvshealth.com/covid-19/testing-locations Side note: My wife & I returned from out of the country via Miami on February 20th. About 4 days later she was laid up with a nasty cold/flu, coughing like she's never coughed. It finally went away after a couple of weeks. Fast forward - last week she went to get the antibodies test to see if she had Covid. Got the negative results on Friday. Just a bad case of the 2020 flu.
  7. How I know WFT fans have hit the "I stopped caring" button for this season: It's Friday and there's no 'Week 7 - Prediction' thread. And we're playing Dallas. 😑
  8. Oddly enough my wife & I went with another couple in early September to see this same band. I told her that night I would never return there (1st time there) per your comment. But that band Audiovault is really good. Our neighbor grew up with Keith Horne the bass player in the band. Keith is a phenomenal bass player & has played with a lot of top bands/singers. Hired gun bassist who's been in the RVA music scene since the early 80s.
  9. Any RVA people who have been here since October 9th may want to get tested - JJ's Grille on Staples Mill Road Glen Allen. https://richmond.com/entertainment/dining/health-district-people-who-attended-concert-at-henrico-restaurant-should-quarantine/article_760c8abd-4d6a-5203-8c3a-8f1b12d24bf6.html
  10. Getting a hypo-allergenic dog will almost ensure no one in your house will be allergic to the dog. Shedding & longhair will mess with most people who have allergies. It's the main reason we had to go that route - wife is allergic to cat hair & dog dander.
  11. I couldn't agree more. Adopted dogs are awesome. We've had 2 - Belgian Border Collie/Shepard mix lived for 18 years. The other was a Wheaton Terrier mix that lived for 16 years. Both were incredible dogs. They were about 40 pounds & neither dog shed.
  12. I see your crappy '70s cartoons and raise you the 60s "Tobor, the 8th Man". Note that "Tobor" is robot spelled backwards. 🤣
  13. ^^Perfect. Now I have a list of 150 companies who, if they are currently getting my money, won't be getting $0.01 from me in the future. Saves me a TON of research time.
  14. My highlight about California. Obviously impacts the numbers being reported. Jobless claims: Another 898,000 Americans filed new unemployment claims last week U.S. states saw another 898,000 Americans file first-time unemployment insurance claims last week, representing an unexpected rise in new claims with the pandemic still under way and another round of fiscal stimulus still out of reach. The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) released its weekly jobless claims report at 8:30 a.m. ET Thursday. Here were the main metrics from the report, compared to Bloomberg estimates: Initial jobless claims, week ended Oct. 10: 898,000 vs. 825,000 expected and 845,000 during the prior week Continuing jobless claims, week ended Oct. 3: 10.018 million vs. 10.550 million expected and 11.183 million during the prior week Jobless claims rose by 53,000 last week, ending what had been a four-week streak of improvements in the number of new claims. At 898,000, the sum represented the seventh straight week that initial claims came in below the 1 million mark. However, new claims have held stubbornly above 800,000 for as many weeks, with a steady stream of new layoffs continuing to weigh on the economic recovery. ... But other data underscored the ongoing strain on the labor market: unadjusted claims for Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation jumped by more than 818,000 to 2.78 million for the week ended September 26, marking a surge in those who had exhausted state aid and moved to claim the federal program’s additional 13 weeks of benefits. The jump in headline new jobless claims came even as California, the most populous state, continued with a pause in reporting new unadjusted claims to the national total, and again reported claims at its mid-September level. The state said earlier this month that it was temporarily halting processing initial claims to “reduce its claims processing backlog and implement fraud prevention technology,” according to a Labor Department’s statement. https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/news/jobless-claims-coronavirus-unemployment-week-ended-october-10-2020-183353138.html
  15. Jobless claims: Another 840,000 Americans filed new unemployment claims last week U.S. states saw another 840,000 jobless claims filed last week, as the number of Americans applying for first-time unemployment insurance benefits each week continues to hover at a historically high level. The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) released its weekly jobless claims report at 8:30 a.m. ET Thursday. Here were the main metrics from the report, compared to Bloomberg estimates: Initial jobless claims, week ended Oct. 3: 840,000 vs. 820,000 expected and 849,000 during the prior week Continuing claims, week ended Sept. 26: 10.976 million vs. 11.4 million expected and 11.979 million during the prior week https://finance.yahoo.com/news/jobless-claims-coronavirus-unemployment-week-ended-october-3-2020-164918818.html
  16. My wife & her twin sister celebrated their birthday Tuesday by making these appetizers. It kept them busy not thinking about their first birthday in 66 years without their mother who we laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery late last month. She passed away almost 1 year ago but had to wait due to Covid. The cheeseball was covered with crushed cheetos. We had a nice family cookout...
  17. Also, just read Regal Cinemas are temporarily closing all US & UK locations on Thursday - 45,000 people out of work. I didn't see a timeline for a re-opening. America’s permanent job losses continue to rise The light is dimming for one of the few glimmers of hope amid the Covid-19 economic crisis. When the economy started shutting down during the early phases of the coronavirus pandemic in March, economists argued that the bulk of the job losses would be temporary as these workers would be recalled once businesses were cleared to reopen. Indeed, the economy has experienced a partial snapback from the depths of the crisis. But seven months later, many businesses remain closed. Many have gone bankrupt. And the effects of the prolonged economic pause are rippling out in the form of real economic pain. In the U.S. payrolls report released on Friday, we learned that 3.75 million American workers identified as “permanent job losers” in September, up from 3.41 million from the previous month and 1.28 million back in February before the lockdowns. Meanwhile, those on “temporary layoff” fell to 4.64 million in September, down from 6.16 million in August and 18.06 million in April when the measure peaked. “One of the less encouraging details was the continued grind higher in the number of unemployed persons classified as permanent job losers,” JPMorgan economist Michael Feroli said on Friday. https://news.yahoo.com/economy-temporary-layoff-permanent-job-loss-morning-brief-095426627.html
  18. ^^If this is true, Barr needs to resign. Corrupt asshole. Strzok’s lawyer, Aitan Goelman, made the claim in a letter to US District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan on Monday, alleging the documents were doctored According to Goelman, the notes include ‘handwritten additions’ – inserted dates – on at least two occasions that were not written by the former FBI agent 'On at least one occasion, the date added is wrong and could be read to suggest that a meeting at the White House happened before it actually did,' he wrote Flynn’s attorneys filed documents in September claiming they were evidence of ‘misconduct by FBI and and DOJ—playing games with the life of a hero’ https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8783939/Peter-Strzok-says-notes-public-defense-attorneys-Michael-Flynn-doctored.html
