  1. While I agree with this to an extent unless there’s proof that whatever Snyder said was a lie compared to what Bruce said it’s just more hearsay unfortunately. Especially considering Bruce is just as big a snake in the grass as Dan
  2. I have a hard time believing this gets to September without it being reported if it supposedly happened in June. And I also have a hard time believing a supposed cards beat reporter got the scoop 4 months later that doesn’t make sense
  3. Posted this in the new start thread but if I don’t get a photo at some point this season I’ll be highly disappointed lol
  4. I know power rankings in and of themselves are a joke but I swear this has to be a parody even the most negative on this board wouldn’t have us as the third worst team in the league. Meanwhile Dallas minus 3 starting o lineman from last season and 1 starting wr with an nfl td to their name is at 15. Sheesh.
  5. I’ll be there got a tent, speaker, custom corn hole boards and bags, I’ll be cooking eggs, venison, bacon, and chicken on the griddle. I’ll have chips as well I’ll have tortillas and bagels. And I’m sure I’ll have some soda, maybe oj, water etc. I’ll have some number of Jell-O shots not sure on number but wife tends to go over board when she makes them 🤣 I’ll have several serving platters if anyone needs any. I’ve also got a little can to set up to collect tabs for you guys from anybody that is with us. I’ve also got almost 2 full sets of cornhole bags One of my sets only has 6 bags vs 8 but if somebody needs to borrow some they are more than welcome. Same with the boards if anyone wants to play more than welcome to. My brother and I are super excited especially since we got a free extra pair of tickets due to the command the canvas debut this weekend. btw we will be the dudes with the mandalorian helmets haha.
  6. Nah I hear you. It’s impossible to know what his ceiling is right now nor to know whether he’s an nfl caliber player. Odds are he’s not as the odds are always low. Was just pointing out that low hs rating and lack of offers doesn’t necessarily accurately reflect the talent level due to only playing football his senior year
  7. I think another perfect indictment of the Jay tenure is the DJ Swearinger situation. Now do I agree with the way DJ handled things constantly going to the media to air out the dirty laundry? No I do not. That being said he a) obviously didn’t respect the coaching staff enough to stop doing it b) the team let it go on for two years without consequence c) let it boil over to the point that the only option was to cut one of your best players on defense. It’s a microcosm of the level of respect Jay and his coaching staff commanded
  8. The lack of offers and being a 3 star recruit likely stems from the fact that he only played 1 year of Hs ball because he wanted to focus on basketball. In that one year of hs ball he had 10 picks of which 5 were returned for touchdowns. Would he have been a higher rated recruit if he played longer who knows. But I don’t think lack of offers or his rating as a recruit should be a knock on his potential. Last season as a sophomore and 1st year starter at Rice he had 56 tackles 1 FF and 3 picks. Now can he get to the level of Nfl talent who knows but I wouldn’t write him off either
  9. I think he should be and I think he’d probably be the only person to be given the okay to do so.
  10. Obviously after last night might not have the same effect but I’d love to see him do that during enter sandman at vt. Still contend the loudest I’ve heard fedex is enter sandman the two times tech has played there followed by the 2012 playoff game
  11. https://www.si.com/.amp/nfl/2022/09/02/sean-gabriel-taylor-daily-cover Kinda surprised this wasn’t posted yet. Really good article about Gabe and what it’s like trying to fill his brother’s shoes. One Sunday morning when Gabriel was almost 7, the bleary-eyed boy appeared in the door frame of his mother’s bedroom with a coloring book and a heavy heart. This was the summer of 2008, nine months after Sean died from gunshot wounds suffered during a late-night burglary attempt at his home in the Miami suburb of Palmetto Bay, where he was visiting his fiancé, Jackie García, and his baby daughter, Jackie. “I wish Sean was here,” Simone recalls Gabriel saying as he climbed into her bed and began to draw. “Because if he was here, I could’ve been the artist and he could’ve been the baller.” “You can still be an artist,” Simone countered. “Sean would’ve wanted you to be whatever you wanted.” “No, Mommy; you don’t understand,” Gabriel replied. “When I’m running, I feel him running with me. When I hit, I feel him in my chest. When I catch, I feel him in my arms. Sean wants me to be great.” True to Sean’s style, Gabriel doesn’t plan to stop short of his target: In addition to helping the Owls secure their first winning record and reach their first bowl game since 2014 this season, the safety’s sights are set on even bigger prizes downfield. “Jim Thorpe [Award], that’s my main goal,” he says. “[And] I want to wear 21 for the Commanders. That would be the cherry on top of the cake.”
  12. I agree with just about all of this. And trust me I've taken some of those same arrows in regards to Jason. While I don't disagree with A I will say in the very least Tanya seems to be much more interested about having her hands in and being involved in non football related things. That in and of itself would be a huge win on the football side of things at the very least. People complain about the uniforms the brand whatever. I could give two craps about that type of stuff let Tanya design all the uniforms if it means we are winning football games and the culture in the building continues going in the right direction. Again I have my doubts about how long it lasts but again at the moment things at least seem to be going in the right direction
  13. In Tanya’s defense about the first part I don’t disagree. I’ve been lucky to deal with several people with the team over the last couple of months. I’ve gotten the impression that people in the building actually do genuinely like working for Tanya. I’ll give a couple of examples. Last Thursday before fantasy draft I had to drop off the rest of my stuff for the command the canvas. Mostly with this stuff I deal with Victoria Rossi (director of guest experience). I had the assistant director of guest experience escorting me Thursday. She worked for nascar for four years and the dolphins for two before coming here. She said this was far and away the best culture she’s worked in and the most fun she’s had at job. Was also told Tanya was incredible and I’ve heard this sentiment from others as well. They could be blowing smoke of course but I’m very good at reading people when talking face to face with them and I don’t think they are. Two things I wanna point out about the rally in Richmond on Friday. I did get to talk to Jason Wright for a few minutes. He went out of his way to mention to me that he wanted me to meet Tanya because she loves all the Commandalorian stuff and loved my work. Also thought it was kinda awesome that she was there Friday hanging out fist bumping fans taking pictures and just talking to the different fans and everything Now all that being said IF Dan could let Tanya do what she’s doing and stay in the background we might would be okay. But I like I’m sure everyone else here have serious doubts about how long that’s going to last. But I’ll enjoy it while I can lol Maybe the best thing for us would to have Congress just constantly threatening a subpoena so he stays on his boat 🤣
  14. The question itself wasn’t even about the gameplan ironically. The question was in regards to what they saw in wentz to make the trade for him. For the record he also said while answering this question that they were extremely lucky “there’s a crazy *** owner in Indy who doesn’t know what he’s doing”
  15. Also would ignore what Coach Zampese told us at the film session about having a lot of speed and bombing people out of existence.
  16. I don't disagree with you at all and kicking problems cost us the Denver game. To be honest the KC game was pretty frustrating as well. Defense forced 3 turnovers in the first half we shoulda been up 28-10 at half time with the way KCs defense had been playing going into that game
  17. I could make the argument the defense was good to very good in the GB and Denver games as well. Even the first Dallas game. GB 24 points 304 yards given up. Denver 17 points and 273 yards given up. Dallas D gave up 20 points 323 yards given up. All in all that 7 game stretch they gave 18.9 pts per game and 290 ypg. extrapolated through entire season thats 3rd in points and 2nd in yards. that was also while playing rodgers, brady, wilson, carr and dak during that stretch
  18. Hahaha Funny thing is once the black jerseys drop that’s probably the direction I’m going
  19. Yeah I think a lot of this is trial and error on their part right now being as it’s the first season doing a lot of this stuff. For example with our ultra everything is on a weekday which is super obnoxious as someone that lives in tidewater. If I didn’t get the amount of pto I get I wouldn’t be able to do half of it. I’d imagine you’ll see improvements year to year atleast I hope
  20. One note on Carson though today he seemed kinda nervous to be honest. Just based off body language and how soft spoken he was
  21. This is part of the reason I’m bullish on this season. I said it a while back but the 180 in Ron’s demeanor between last year and this year are obvious. Last year he tried telling us that they weren’t ready to and to pump the brakes. This year it’s we are going to take a jump and telling fans at open practice we are putting the league on notice. Obviously I don’t know this but it seems like Chase and Montez were embarrassed about last year. Chase obviously has to come back healthy but both seem like they are on a mission to prove people wrong. Whether that translates to wins and losses idk but this is probably most hopeful I’ve been in a long time
  22. Was a really good turnout and really well done to be honest. Here’s one thing that’s not mentioned that I thought was interesting. Tanya Snyder was kinda a hit as well. Yes she was there hanging out with fans taking pictures etc and to be honest seemed very gracious and to be enjoying herself. lol but Jonathan Allen, Carson, Terry, fuller, Logan Thomas, JD, Ron for current. Logan Paulsen, Santana, Doug Williams, Smoot, Bmitch, Gary Clark, ken Harvey among other alumni that were there. Doug for the record did not look well. He had his daughters with him and they had to hold on to him anytime he was walking around
  23. All I’m saying is we could totally beat them to the punch
