I think people in general don’t watch these other QBs play. I watch TLawrence make terrible decisions/throws. I watch Herbert do idiotic things every week. I watched Mahomes make mistakes and play awful in Denver. I think people might confuse great QB play with “mistake free” QB play. One of those does not exist. Sam has played well this year.

This team is always less than the sum of its parts. I’m glad they pulled the trigger today to move both those guys. We just have to cross our fingers that Harris gets the FO hires right. We can’t afford to have the kind of reckless, compulsive nuttery that Tepper has brought here to the Panthers. Gotta get these hires right. Keep the core guys and establish a singular vision/culture. We are due some good fortune.

Nice trade (the Sweat one I didn’t see the Chase one until now 😆) I think this is by far Ron’s worst coaching job. I’ll be happy when we have a new FO, we need a reboot. But this talk about Ron trying to torpedo a deal or block a trade out of spite feels like a reach.

Howell can play. All of the backhanded compliments and “but, but” criticisms feel kinda silly. If the new regime took over TODAY, they would be foolish to kick him to the curb. He was elite today at times. I’m sorry if people can’t see it. Quan can have one bad half and he’s a bust. Howell can measure top half of the league in almost every QB metric for half a season behind a **** OL and it’s “we’ll see”. Give me a ****ing break.

There is no bottom for this franchise. It feels like my last biotech investment.

I assume I am included in this bit here. 😆 To be fair, I said I would replace Ron because I thought we could do better. I just didn’t agree with the nitpicking of everything he ever says or does. For instance, I could give a **** what Ron says to his wife after a football game. I still don’t. But the coaching this year (especially on defense), I think has ben Ron’s most disappointing season yet. The offense is about what I expected. Howell has played about as well as I expected overall. The Bills and Bears games were enough for me. I expect they were enough for Harris as well.

Somebody elite!! Haven’t you been following along!! 😆 I think Ron’s and the entire FO’s fate is sealed. I think Sam still has time to prove himself worthy of a shot with a new GM/HC (he has already done so with me).

Sam takes too many sacks. But people are downplaying how well he has played. He is top half of the league in any metric you want to use. Sam is really smart (top Wonderlic score of his class if I remember correctly). Sam is tough as nails. Sam puts in the work. All of these things give me high confidence that he will figure it out. Why do people act like his sack numbers are a finished product? Are we just bored and in the doldrums of another **** season? Probably the latter.

To be clear, I’m not taking about him “as is”. I just think he will be a top ten guy.

I think Sam Howell is a top ten quarterback in this league. I’m excited to watch him grow.

It’s cool we have time to make up our minds about him. Let’s do that instead maybe.

I think Howell gets too much on that deep incompletion. It was 3rd and forever and there was safety help in the middle of the field. Was it a great pass? No. But people acting like he missed a layup are reaching.

Shhhh. No facts in here. 😆 I’m not sure I’ve ever hated a defensive unit as much as I hate this one. Coaches, scheme, not all players but a lot of them. Zero pride. Just going through the motions. Just a disgrace in a pantheon of organizational disgraces.

Our third down defense is amazing. Top shelf. Eat **** JDR.

Because it’s been five games. I still see skills on his college tape. So did a lot of scouts. He’s getting acclimated. To say he’s struggling big time right now is fair. To say he’s a bust is silly at this point. The Rivera regime is almost over. I think the hatred for all things Ron spills over to his draft choices, perhaps unfairly at times. I wish we’d support our rookies more than we do around here. Or our players in general. If they are good we complain that they aren’t great. If they’re Pro Bowl we complain that they’re not All Pro. Some people here still think Ryan Kerrigan is overrated. So yes…it feels insufferable at times.
