  1. I’d be beyond thrilled with a Peters hire. I think we should all be happy with that (although I know there will be some dissension here…it is ES 😆). This new beginning feels really good. Kinda like that first ice cream sandwich in the morning,
  2. My only reservation about Ben Johnson’s scheme is that they seem to struggle with the blitz (to my untrained eye when I watch Detroit play). Not sure how much that is Goff/scheme/etc. But it did stand out to me considering that they have lot of talent on the OL.
  3. Manhattan (1978) - My favorite Woody Allen film. The black and white photography is great and Diane Keaton is amazing. Worth a watch. Saltburn (2023) - I hated this pretentious piece of trash more than I can explain. Shock value cinema that is a total ripoff of other films that were much better made. But I figured I would add it to the list here for those of you who like Amazon movie garbage. 😆
  4. Josh Harris sets meetings with GM candidates which is standard protocol for teams with regime change. ES: We have the greatest owner ever!! He’s really thought this thing through!! 😆😆 We are starved for some good fortune around here. I think we get it. Hire Peters and let’s do this.
  5. He’s just overwhelmed that he got an invite to interview with the Commanders. Dreams do come true.
  6. I see a lot of traits that I like with McCarthy. Unpopular opinion, but I think he has better pro tools than Penix. The game was kinda blah. Michigan just too strong.
  7. I’m hoping the coaching search drags on for a few weeks. I need to space out the drama so I have something to do. 😆 Oh, and don’t watch Saltburn (especially during a meal).
  8. I’m not having a Drake Maye love fest. And to say “how closely do you follow college football” isn’t a question, it’s a trolling insult that implies I have no idea what I’m talking about. Don’t call me dude. Or boo. Or whatever other super clever terms of endearment you have in your bag. Thanks. 😊
  9. I understand that as well. My statement was probably just a little bitter because of how the season went (and somebody asking if I even watch college football 😆).
  10. I watch a lot of college football. I also read this board a lot. Lots of people here like to set a narrative. As soon as we got the second pick (which Maye is a high probability), people start in with their gut feelings/etc. This way when he fails, these people can come out of the woodwork to say how right they were all along. Gut feelings/recency bias aside, there are some things to Maye’s game that need improvement. No prospect is flawless. But anyone who doesn’t think that Maye is a bonafide top 5 pick in any draft is being disingenuous.
  11. You said it much better than I did, and I agree wholeheartedly. Daniels is a great prospect in his own right, I just don’t think he’s similar to Lamar.
  12. I can see this with playing styles but I think people wanting Daniels to be Lamar Jackson are gonna be disappointed.
  13. There’s a lot more “Maye ain’t the guy” takes here than I expected. I don’t really understand it. Not sure how anyone can look at Maye and not be impressed with him as a prospect. But it’s a long time until draft day. We’ll see how it plays out. The cool thing about a regime change is that we have plenty to pay attention to in the offseason. Let’s hope this disaster of a season will be our last for a long time.
  14. Blood Simple (1984) - The first feature film from The Coen Brothers. It’s a dark noir flick. Violent. Unpredictable. Amazing. Love these lower budget masterpieces. I wanna watch a hundred more movies just like it. Days of Heaven (1978) - Terence Malick’s follow up to Badlands which is my favorite indie film of all time. This film’s content isn’t as bold/violent as his later work The Thin Red Line, but some of the sequences here are the most beautiful ever filmed. If you can handle the first half of the movie, the second half is truly incredible. A piece of art.
  15. Your one note symphony is tiresome. It’s a long offseason. Pace yourself.
  16. Yeah man, all this “if they keep Fields” stuff just needs to stop before it really gets annoying. Damn, too late. 😆
  17. Kinda hard to complain with the results here today. We caught way more breaks than we didn’t. It’s nice that the new FO will have some ammo and flexibility. Let’s hope they do the most with it.
  18. To wind up with the number 2 pick after starting 2-0 is an extra level of ****ty that I didn’t know we had in us. I am impressed, ashamed, and excited.
  19. Put me on the Slowik train. I like that he’s from the Shanahan tree. I like what the Texans are doing on offense. He’s 36. More importantly, he also cut his teeth on the defensive side of the ball. Worked in Saleh’s scheme and now working with DeMeco in Houston. I like those defensive styles/philosophies. I’m sure there’s probably a “deeper dive” discussion on here about him already, but wanted to throw my hat in the ring.
