I don’t like the Kingsbury hire. Dude is meh personified. Feels kinda like a rag/tag, thrown together staff. Excited for the draft to see which way we go. I still don’t think we move for Caleb.

I’m not saying that Kingsbury won’t work out here. It’s possible. But my question is why hasn’t anyone ever seen the “best of him” at any of his coaching jobs? He has underachieved everywhere. He seems like a whiteboard wizard that lacks certain attributes on game day.

I consider all of these things when discussing Kingsbury. I watched the Cardinals play enough to see that their offense was consistently a hot mess. I don’t think that being obsessed over drawing up unique plays and coaching/teaching the details of said plays are one and the same. I think Kingsbury is maybe good at the former, but poor at the latter. Which is why his unit underachieved relative to expectations.

This still doesn’t address that his offenses play sloppy and his lack of attention to detail. Kinda reminds me of Gruden in some ways (Gruden run game specifically) where they run a lot of different concepts but don’t really excel at any of them. Kingsbury is a shiny new toy without the shine.

I don’t get the hype with Kingsbury. Is he a good offensive mind? Yes. But his units lack discipline. Penalties and lots of self inflicted wounds. The guy has done the least amount on the field to ever receive such high amounts of praise. I don’t understand it.

One that’s sloppy with lots of penalties, missed assignments, and poor execution. His offense (when I watched it) was always a hot mess.

Quinn was not my first choice (as most here also feel 😆), but I will judge him by his results on the field. If they hire a great OC and have a great offseason/draft I think this dog could eventually hunt. I didn’t care what Rivera said to his wife after games or what the sound byte de jour was, his results on the field were poor and that’s all that mattered. I don't give a **** if Quinn is a rah rah guy, or if he defers to his coordinators, or if he wears ****ing magic underwear to practice…his results on the field are all that matters. Different coaches have different styles. There is more than one way to skin a cat. Let’s hope the new brass got this one right. I think we will all feel a lot better about it if he hires a great OC. Fingers crossed.

If we draft Drake and spend on FA this season and hire Kubiak as OC…8-9. Playoffs second season. If we hire Chip Kelly I give Dan Quinn two years tops.

No way Peters asked Quinn who he wanted for OC…and Quinn said Chip Kelly. And then Peters said “You’re hired!” No way that happened.

Good pull. I was gonna bring him up as well. I like his scheme and his players seem to play fundamentally sound football. I’d take a long look at Lincoln Riley as well. You gotta think that Quinn has all the leverage in the world at this point. Wild times.

Of course that’s what we’re gonna say, so we don’t get egg on our face if it falls apart. I’m gonna bow out now and hope we hire Macdonald. I just know that Myers/Peters/Spielman weren’t brought in to hire Dan Quinn. Any GM could’ve done that. It just feels familiar is all. Quinn isn’t a bad coach…it’s just not inspiring.

I don’t give a **** what they say. Your top dawg who you’ve vetted behind the scenes turns you down mid flight. Bad look for everyone involved. And I can find videos (they are hard to find but they exist 😆) where Zorn is mic’d up and sounds like he knows what he’s doing. Coaching “highlight” videos don’t mean ****.

I’ve been on here long enough to know when they try to stick lipstick on a pig. That’s what you’re talking about doing if we hire Quinn. Predictably disappointing. And they’ll say “Dan was our number one choice” which will be even more embarrassing. Peters was hired to put together a top notch coaching staff (preferably offensive minded) to nurture and develop our number two pick. He looks to be stumbling a bit in that quest. Quinn is a safe retread. Exactly the kind of garbage we’ve hired for the past two decades.

How long have you been around here man? We’re gonna roast Quinn and I’m gonna be right there with the gasoline. 😆 Hope Peters has a great draft. Not a great start for him. Although I would like a Macdonald hire.

The exciting offseason has taken a turn for the less exciting. Man…this team.
